The “Ronnie James Dio” Hologram Tour Is Announced

Hey there readers, so do you remember a post that we ran last year at around this time? It was from the Wacken Open Air festival in Germany and what was an added attraction for the fans over there was the presentation of the Ronnie James Dio hologram. It performed songs with the guys in Dio Disciples and if you missed that post or the clip itself just click HERE to be more up to speed. Fast forward to where we are now, and the company that created this fantastical spectacle have just announced the first dates on a world tour that will feature this hologram. Read on to the press release down below.

The Press Release:
Live music’s premier hologram production company Eyellusion today revealed initial dates for “Dio Returns: The World Tour”, featuring a hologram of Ronnie James Dio reunited with the late rock star’s former bandmates from the DIO band. The tour will make more than eighty stops around the globe, kicking off in Helsinki, Finland on November 30. It marks the first tour of its kind, breaking new ground just as Dio did throughout an accomplished career as a lead singer and songwriter in defining bands such as RAINBOW, BLACK SABBATH and DIO.

The “Dio Returns” tour will also make stops throughout Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, France, Germany, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Paraguay, United Kingdom, Venezuela and other countries, with dates to be announced. The tour is expected to come to the United States in spring 2018 and play festivals globally during the summer.

The Ronnie James Dio hologram will perform for the majority of the show, treating fans to an alternating set list that will feature songs such as “Holy Diver”, “Rainbow In The Dark”, “We Rock”, “King Of Rock And Roll”, BLACK SABBATH’s “Neon Knights” and “Heaven And Hell” and RAINBOW’s “Man On The Silver Mountain” and more.

The Details: New York City Metal fans are going to get a “Wicked Sensation” when it comes to the appearance of the Lynch Mob next week at the venerated Times Square venue B.B. King Blues Club and Grill. If memory serves me correctly, it’s been a couple of years since the guys have dropped by to say some musical hellos and that makes me glad to announce this latest contest to see the show for free thanks to the powers that be at the venue. George Lynch is one of the best Metal guitarists that we have and with him paired up with original singer Oni Logan again this one is going to be great. Read below on how to participate.

When and Where: Monday, November 21st at B.B. King Blues Club 7:30pm (237 West 42nd Street NYC)

To Participate: There is so much going on in the Metal scene right now that demands my attention so I am going to go with the standard request that the interested give me three solid things about the band or its albums and past shows that stand out for them. Make it good stuff and not the whole “cuz they rule dude” because that is just not trying at all. Please note this is for a single ticket only and no plus one requests will be honored. Sorry to do that but hey if you win you can always help your friend pay for a ticket or buy them something to drink inside the venue (provided you are of age to do so). I’ll be selecting winners from the submissions and letting them know directly below their entry. Kindly review these guidelines.

Lynch Mob @ B.B. King Blues Club (1/31/2011)

Logo - Lynch Mob

Artist: The Lynch Mob
Venue: B.B. King Blues Club (New York, NY)
Opener: Sonic Bliss, Willie Basse
Date: 1/31/2011
Label: Frontiers Records

It was exactly six months to the day when I last caught a once again touring Lynch Mob and that was when the band was acting as direct support for the Michael Schenker Group back in July. The show was great but Lynch and his merry mates only played about seven songs which left the fans that were excited to see him up there again leaving slightly disappointed with the short set. That made tonight’s appearance at B.B. King’s something that they were looking forward to because it was announced that he would be performing a combined “Best Of” set of both Lynch Mob and Dokken material with his band. I had to admit that this interested me very much especially when you considered how drummer “Wild” Mick Brown was once again working with the axe slinger. That made this particular configuration of the group as close to the original as possible with the exception of original bassist Anthony Esposito. The second change in the lineup for tonight would be on bass, as Robbie Crane from Ratt was in place for this go round. The openers listed for the show would be both Sonic Bliss and Wille Basse but I would not catch them and only focus my attention on Mr. Lynch.
