Marvel Announces “Nebula” Series For February 2020

The Press Release:
This February, follow the exploits of one of the most feared women in the galaxy in NEBULA, an all-new six-issue series from rising Marvel star Vita Ayala with art by Claire Roe! In NEBULA, the daughter of Thanos and sister of Gamora will finally get her time in the spotlight — and she has her eye on a very secret device. But will one of the galaxy’s most notorious bounty hunters get to it first? Marvel fans know that Nebula rarely lets anyone get in her way…

“Nebula” #1

“[Since] the movies kind of reinvigorated interest in her, we’ve gotten to see her pop up more and more in the comics. And now, here’s her solo title where all we do is really dive deep and explore who she is and why she does what she does. That’s kind of my jam,” Ayala said in an exclusive interview with Refinery29. “I really want to kind of showcase how cool Nebula is even though she’s a bad guy, and how much more complex she is than what we might assume….it was my mission to try and show who she is on a kind of two-dimensional level. Being able to be in her head and fill out all the corners is really given me an appreciation for her, and I want other people to also love her and want her to do her best.”

Coming Soon: Hasbro’s Marvel Legends “Guardians Of The Galaxy” Vol. 2 Wave 2 Action Figures

I’d say that it feels like only yesterday that I was sharing some visuals about an awesome set of action figures from those folks over at Hasbro Toys but it was yesterday so let’s move on. The interesting thing is that this information was circulating around the same time as the low down on the “Spider-Man: Homecoming” action figures for the film that opens in July. This news is a right surprise because its coming only a couple of weeks before the “Guardians Of The Galaxy” Vol. 2 film which we’ve also been discussing here and sharing some trailers like THIS ONE on the website for a few months. Hasbro has just unveiled the Second Wave of action figures for this film and I’ve culled the images from Amazon.com to share with you below. Let’s take a look.

Opening Today: “Guardians Of The Galaxy” (8/1/2014)

I’ve said for awhile that is was time for the Marvel Cinematic Universe to get more cosmic and what better way to do it than to bring “The Guardians Of The Galaxy” to the big screen in the teams live-action debut. Check out the poster below and then we can discuss a little deeper.

The Premise: I will not even defer to the film’s Wiki entry because their plot reveals too much for me to share in this new broadcast post but essentially the film features a disparate and rag tag group of unlikely heroes from numerous worlds and species. When Thanos dispatches a dangerous henchman Ronan The Accuser to retrieve an artifact that he needs they band together and realize that they can help protect the galaxy from threats of this kind. The trailers have shown that there is a healthy dose of tongue in cheek comedic lines to be found in the film but I am okay with that since Marvel always did have a sense of humor when it was necessary. I don’t think we will be getting slapstick here so don’t worry. I like what I have seen so far and I really enjoyed the original Guardians team that had Starhawk, Charlie – 27, Martinex and Vance Astro so I am hopeful that this does the task that it is supposed to and expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos where so much more cool stuff awaits its fans. Can Captain Marvel or Adam Warlock be far from making appearances or am I dreaming while typing this narrative for you. Only time will tell. Readers might be interested in learning that while the film is only opening up today is the everywhere sense, they have already confirmed that we shall see a sequel. I think I know where “Avengers 3” will be heading. So let’s take a look at the cast and tell me my friends will you see this film? What are your hopes? Please no spoilers if you have somehow been lucky enough to see it somewhere.

Hellacopters @ Bowery Ballroom (3/10/2006)

Logo - Hellacopters

Artist: The Hellacopters
Venue: Bowery Ballroom (New York, NY)
Opener: Nebula
Date: 3/10/2006
Label: Liquor & Poker Music

This was going to be a weird show for me because while I am very open to all sorts of music, I was going into this one on the blind side. Only recently had I even heard the name of the “Hellacopters” and it was from first reading it on the guitar wielded by Dregen of Backyard Babies. He had apparently been one of the key members at one point in his career. I was able to hear their latest release entitled “Rock & Roll Is Dead”, and while this group hails from a land more known for their Metal nowadays let me tell you this; as long as the Hellacopters exist Rock & Roll is very far from dead. The brief US Tour would be the first in a number of years for the guys so as one could expect we were going to hit a completely sold out room. This is never a bad thing and The Bowery Ballroom has a nice setup for a gig like this. They have a good sized stage and a very roomy floor where the dancing was going on full-throttle.
