The Statement:
“Sad but true. The time has come for me to confirm that the roads ahead Jonas and I have chosen for both Katatonia and ourselves have grown too wide and far apart, and as a result, our long-term collaboration has drawn to a close.

With him and I being the duo that founded Katatonia almost 35 years ago, and owing to the fact that we managed to take our mission this far, it’s inevitable that our band’s legacy will continue to play a huge role for both of us and always live on, albeit in a different light either captured by our past, future or the many chapters in between.

“We are thrilled to announce our upcoming 2025 tour. After spending the last year and a half celebrating the music of my former band Murderdolls, I’m excited to get back to my solo music. Also you can expect to hear new music from our forthcoming Napalm Records release due in early 2025. We can’t wait to see you all on tour!”

PiercingMetal Thoughts: Historically speaking, I was only a curious fan when W13 was a member of the Murderdolls and while I enjoyed a handful of their tunes they were not a group that I followed or even ever got to see in concert. When W13 released “Fang Bang” I was getting curious about more of the weirder artists outside of my favorite genre of Power Metal and classic Hard Rock and essentially became a devotee for the duration. Having enjoyed his independent artist output and then when he was on the Nuclear Blast Records roster, I am excited for what is to come now that he is on the Napalm Records label. So obviously its far too early to know if I will catch the regional performance when he stops by the Gramercy Theatre in April but I can say that I’d like to do that if at all possible. What about you folks? Are you already mapping out your Spring concerts or are you more focused on Thanksgiving since that is going to be upon us sooner than you’d think. Chime in down below and I shall see you next time around.
