The 2025 world tour will be GHOST’s first outing since its RE-IMPERATOUR 2023 wrapped up its North American run with two sold-out shows at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles—performances that were immortalized in the band’s record-breaking debut feature film RITE HERE RITE NOW — now available for pre-order on DVD, to stream at VEEPS, and to purchase or rent via iTunes or Amazon — and its chart-topping soundtrack album. News of the tour first broke via a new installment of GHOST’s long running Chapters webisode series, which picks up immediately following the events at the conclusion of RITE HERE RITE NOW. Ghost continues to elevate and reaffirm its status as one of the world’s most esteemed and celebrated creative forces. Accumulating well over a billion streams, the GRAMMY-winning Swedish theatrical rock band continues to bring the “euphoric spectacle” (ROLLING STONE) of its live shows to ever-growing and increasingly impassioned crowds, headlining arena tours including sold out shows from The Forum in Los Angeles and Barclays Center in New York to London’s O2 Arena and Stockholm’s Avicii Arena. In March 2022, THE LOS ANGELES TIMES reported in a Calendar cover story that Ghost had “conquered metal and the charts” when its fifth album IMPERA debuted at #1 in a sweep of the U.S. album charts, entering the BILLBOARD 200 at #2 and bowing at #1 in the band’s native Sweden as well as Germany and Finland, while cracking the top 5 in the UK (#2), Netherlands (#2), Belgium (#2), Canada (#3), Australia (#3), France (#5), Ireland (#5), and more. Produced by Klas Åhlund and mixed by Andy Wallace — and featuring “Spillways”—hailed as a “sweetly constructed rock tune” by THE NEW YORK TIMES, the GRAMMY-nominated “Call Me Little Sunshine,” and Active Rock #1 radio single “Hunter’s Moon” — IMPERA finds Ghost transported centuries forward from the Black Plague era of its previous album, 2018 Best Rock Album GRAMMY nominee Prequelle—or as ROLLING STONE put it, “Ghost predicted the pandemic, Now the metal band is foretelling the fall of empires.” The result is the most ambitious and lyrically incisive entry in the Ghost canon: Over the course of IMPERA’s 12-song cycle, empires rise and fall, would-be messiahs ply their hype (financial and spiritual alike), prophecies are foretold as the skies fill with celestial bodies divine and man-made… All in all, the most current and topical Ghost subject matter to date is set against a hypnotic and darkly colorful melodic backdrop making IMPERA a listen like no other — yet unmistakably, quintessentially Ghost.

Ghost @ UBS Arena (9/10/2022)

Tonight was surely going to be a good one. This was my thought process as I stepped off the LIRR train and began the short walk to the UBS Arena in Belmont. I had to say that it was rather exciting to be returning to the place so soon because I had only just been here for the very first time for an absolutely incredible show my the legendary Scorpions. The other part about the excitement came from finally being able to catch Spiritbox who would be starting this event off as the lead act and with so many colleagues in the industry being behind their musical adventures how could I not take advantage of the chance to witness them myself. I was also quite excited to find Mastodon on the tour as I’d been a fan of their sound for a number of years but haven’t been able to catch them on their last few rounds for one reason or another. Then there is the mighty Ghost and what else can be said about this enigmatic outfit that hasn’t been said already.

Now I made sure to arrive early to be sure that I could catch everyone in concert and this is something that I tell all of the Metal hears that I see at shows. You paid a lot of money for a ticket so be sure to get yourself inside the venue to enjoy the whole thing. Having arrived earlier than the time that I had to meet the folks that let you inside I wandered the general grounds and was stoked to see so many of their fans in Ghost-themed cosplay. Most of you know that I go to the New York Comic Con every year and this was finding me feeling like this was a warmup for that event. There were faux Papas of all shapes and sizes and even a bunch of sinister Sisters. I snapped photos of anyone who would let me and will feature them at the close of this article or maybe even give them their own post. Since I am not there yet I am undecided but now I was inside and ready to enjoy the sounds of Spiritbox.

The newly announced dates will comprise Ghost’s first North American run since the March 11, 2022 release of its fifth album IMPERA via Loma Vista Recordings. As reported by THE LOS ANGELES TIMES in a Calendar cover story, Ghost “conquered metal and the charts” as IMPERA debuted at #1 in a sweep of the U.S. album charts, entering the BILLBOARD 200 at #2 with first week sales of nearly 70,000. Internationally, IMPERA bowed at #1 in the band’s native Sweden as well as Germany and Finland, while cracking the top 5 in the UK (#2), Netherlands (#2), Belgium (#2), Canada (#3), Australia (#3), France (#5), Ireland (#5), and more. Produced by Klas Åhlund and mixed by Andy Wallace — and featuring “Spillways”—hailed as a “sweetly constructed rock tune” by THE NEW YORK TIMES, the Billboard Rock Chart (BDS) #1 charting “Call Me Little Sunshine,” and Active Rock #1 radio single “Hunter’s Moon” — IMPERA finds Ghost transported centuries forward from the Black Plague era of its previous album, 2018 Best Rock Album GRAMMY® nominee Prequelle—or as ROLLING STONE put it, “Ghost predicted the pandemic, Now the metal band is foretelling the fall of empires.” The result is the most ambitious and lyrically incisive entry in the Ghost canon: Over the course of IMPERA’s 12-song cycle, empires rise and fall, would-be messiahs ply their hype (financial and spiritual alike), prophecies are foretold as the skies fill with celestial bodies divine and man-made… All in all, the most current and topical Ghost subject matter to date is set against a hypnotic and darkly colorful melodic backdrop making IMPERA a listen like no other — yet unmistakably, quintessentially Ghost.
