Jerry Only of Misfits Signing Super7 “ReAction” Figure @ Forbidden Planet Tomorrow

You’ll have to pardon my missing this news the day it was first announced by a little bit but here we are now and the scoop is here. The great bassist of the legendary Misfits, Mr. Jerry Only will be signing his brand-new ReAction figure that comes care of Super7 at the amazing Forbidden Planet. Check out the skinny below on how you can participate.

Forbidden Planet is beyond excited to announce the return of JERRY ONLY, original member of the legendary MISFITS. The punk rock icon will be at Forbidden Planet NYC to celebrate the release of his very own Misfits Super7 Re-Action figure. Not only will FPNYC have the new Jerry figure, they will also have a selection of Super 7 Misfits Fiend figures available too. Mark your calendar for Thursday July 11th from 6 to 8pm to meet the famous monster at Forbidden Planet 832 Broadway in NYC, and get an autographed Jerry Only figure!

To attend the event and meet Jerry Only you must purchase at least one Super 7 Jerry Only figure at Forbidden Planet NYC. With purchase of the figure you will be permitted to get a maximum of two personal items autographed as well.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: I’m a big fan of the items that come out from Super7 and when I hit the assorted conventions I can’t seem to get to my credit card fast enough to get one or two of their latest round of awesome. It was a few weeks ago that I first announced some of their Rock and Metal coolness HERE in case you missed it. I actually saw this super cool Jerry Only figure at the recent Toy Fair but since they were still finalizing some designs with the musician I wasn’t able to photograph it 🙁 What we saw was awesome and we wanted one for sure and now along with all the rest of you I get to get on the line and shake hands with the monster man himself. I’ve been fortunate enough to meet Jerry a number of times over the years while reporting on his shows and appearances such as this and I have to tell you that he is one cool dude. Fans from the region are going to want to be a part of this signing and also get their butts over to the Psycho Las Vegas event where Misfits are one of the headlining acts. You know we love announcing tours and special one off gigs and that makes this recent alert from the legendary Misfits something exciting. Check out the poster where the band revealed two additional shows for their spectacular reunion performances. Watch out Colorado and Seattle, the 138 are coming for ya!!!!

PiercingMetal Thoughts: I just loved the show that took place in our region last year over at The Rock aka The Prudential Center and had a blast with my friends rocking out to their classic songs as they hit us like artillery. I missed all of the openers except for Suicidal Tendencies but that night I didn’t care at all. It was good fun from beginning to end. I think the folks that are getting to also enjoy a set by The Damned are in for a treat and if that band is for some reason new to you, check out a not too long ago Concert Review we did HERE. They are also a favorite Punk band of mine, and actually one that I listened to BEFORE ever even giving Misfits a try. Weird huh. Anyway, what do you folks think about this news and do you more localized folks in the readership think they will bring this to Madison Square Garden, Barclays Center or Nassau Coliseum? The Original MISFITS Announce Special LA Summer Show

Today, The Original Misfits announced a very special 2019 U.S. date that will take place Saturday, June 29th at the Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles, CA. The Original Misfits features original singer/songwriter Glenn Danzig and original bassist Jerry Only. Rise Against, The Distillers, Anti-Nowhere League and Cro-Mags will join the epic event as special guests.

Tickets go on sale to the general public beginning Friday, April 5th at 10am local time at LiveNation.com.

From the time of their first gig in 1977, the MISFITS and their iconic imagery went on to become one of the most crucially influential, genre-defying bands to ever emerge from North America. The MISFITS significance extends well beyond the narrowed path of punk rock, metal & hardcore. Although not cognizant of how significant they would become, what the Original MISFITS achieved in their initial seven-year window deconstructed and redefined rock music.

The MISFITS with Danzig’s anthemic songs and unmistakable voice, Only’s ferocious bass sound, and the Original MISFITS melody-induced choruses and authentically bruising musicianship, cemented their importance with all ensuing generations. And now legions of diehard fans from around the world will have the opportunity to hear the Original Band that forges a level of intensity unprecedented in the new millennium. PiercingMetal Thoughts: All I will add to this is that if you can secure a ticket that you should do it. My friends and I caught the show at the Prudential Center some months back and it was a thrill ride into Horror Punk history. We don’t have any photos from it of course since no professionals appeared to be permitted and the venue enforced a strict lock your mobile device in a protective bag for the show so thanks for that Glenn. I still loved the experience and think that this is something that the fans will enjoy. I highly suggest you get their early enough to see all of the acts. The Original Misfits Announce Triumphant Return To Chicago!!!

Hold onto your hats Chicago because The Original Misfits are coming back to visit you and will likely leave a whole lot of chaos in their wake. Sadly, I didn’t see any sort of press copy that lines out and extols the colorful history of the group and only received the poster below in my email. Since this is a one night only experience, I am thinking that it speaks volumes just the same. Do you agree?

PiercingMetal Thoughts: Having recently caught this show at Newark’s Prudential Center, I’ve gotta say that you are going to want to get yourself out to this if you live in the region and can do so. Hearing these songs done by their original creators once again teamed up was fantastic for me, and of course my show also featured guitarist Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein with compliments from Acey Slade (guitar) and Dave Lombardo (drums). I’m not sure why Doyle isn’t mentioned on this poster but perhaps he is being held back as a big surprise reveal. I would hate that fans of the classic lineup would miss out on him if he had other touring commitments at the time of this show but let’s see what happens. The openers for this performance are also strong with the legendary Punk group Fear and Venom Inc. and Power Trip. It’s the kind of show that you are going to want to arrive for nice and early to enjoy all of the bands. Oh and before I go, let me point out that considering how the last few shows were, this one is very likely also going to be a no-phone show which means you must secure your mobile device in a sealed pouch or leave it locked in your car hidden from prying eyes.
