Hey there my friends and welcome back. Now before I get started on this post from the earlier this month’s Toy Fair, I wonder if you’ve had enough by now and wish for me to stop. If you answered “yes” for some reason I am afraid that I can’t help you since I still have a few more posts to bring to your attention. With this post I’m beginning the discoveries over at the Super7 booth. I’ve been a fan of their releases for a few years and now let’s get into it.
Anytime that we see Super7 at the Toy Fair or even the New York Comic Con they have their guardian at the gates with the giant statue of Mummy Boy. Offhand I don’t recall if they’ve brought it him to the New York Comic Con but they might have and I’m just not remembering it. He’s a really cool figure just the same and I always smile when I see him welcoming in the buyers and media at the booth.
Our friends at Super7 are way big on the blind boxes in terms of releases and while the originally packaged a whole lot of Godzilla Reaction Figures, there are now a few different sets coming to the purchaser as a mystery.
If you’ve yet to indulge in the music coming from Detroit’s high-energy Alt-Punk band Kaleido, then there is no better time to start than right now as the band has offered up a cover of one of the legendary Misfits most seminal numbers “Halloween”. Starting off with heavy chord from guitarist Johnson and some sweet intro drums by Fava, the track rolls over you with the necessary speed for a Punk number like this. Singer Chriss sings with her own register and doesn’t aim at emulating Danzig at all which is refreshing. While its sometimes necessary to do so, I prefer when a band plays a cover like this as themselves and I’ve been a fan of Christina’s voice for a number of years now. It seems like only recently that we shared news from Super7 about a new version of the Misfits “Fiend” and it was when we discussed their “Static Age” purple vinyl edition (seen HERE). Now its onto the celebration of the 2nd pressing on white vinyl of “Legacy Of Brutality” and their Misfits Fiend in white. Take a look.
The fiends over at Super7 are looking to keep making you reach for your credit card, and especially so if you are a fan of the legendary Horror Punk band the Misfits. Here is some details and visuals (from their side of the fence) on the latest Misfits Fiend being released to the general public. This one celebrates a special vinyl edition of their “Static Age” album.
