Welcome back my friends and as promised I am here with you nice and early to get back into the presentations of my adventures at the 2021 New York Comic Con. I’ll be starting with my Day Two photographs and notes so if you missed anything just click HERE to launch a new browser tab with everything that has come before. My first photo is of a cosplaying violinist that we chanced upon down at the Hudson Yards “7” train.
The banner is welcoming all the patrons for the day and this wide shot is one that I often do at this event.
The Press Release:
The leading publisher of music-based graphic novels continues to make noise, announcing huge names from music and comics in attendance at this year’s convention to debut and announce future projects throughout the weekend! In partnership with American Music Supply, fans will have a once in a lifetime opportunity to meet some of the biggest names behind Z2’s 2021 publishing slate including a special appearance by originators of rap and rock’s crossover, Chuck D of Public Enemy and all five members of Anthrax!
The Press Release:
Just ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday, Z2 gives music fans something to celebrate with news of one of the publisher’s most ambitious projects yet. The Among the Living graphic novel pulls together a who’s who of names from around comics and music for a track by track storyline inspired by one of heavy metal’s most iconic albums. Today’s announcement brings news that Anthrax has teamed with the leading publisher of music tie-in graphic novels to assemble an all-star cast of famous fans to bring the band’s breakthrough album to the printed page for the first time.
“Doing a comic book has always been a huge goal for me” said Anthrax’s Charlie Benante. “I’ve tried for years, but something always comes up and sidetracks me. I was ecstatic when Josh Bernstein brought the idea to us to do a graphic novel based on our album Among the Living. I felt that it was the perfect time and opportunity to fulfill that dream. I am a lifelong artist and have been drawing during the pandemic more than ever, so I had the idea to bring my own artwork to this project. As a fan of the Judge Dredd series since the 80’s, it was an honor to create cover art based off of Dredd and Judge Death. The amount of talent that is going into this project is astounding, I scratch my head just thinking about it!” Continue reading Z2 Comics & Anthrax Reveal “Among The Living” Graphic Novel→

PiercingMetal Thoughts: Sadly I was one of those music fans that somehow missed the boat on a band like MCR. However with that being said I do love reunions when its a band that so many people are over the moon about. Now while I have admitted to never really following the bands career all that much I can say that the songs that I did hear I rather enjoyed. I know that a lot of my friends like them. What do you readers think about this news? Do you think that it will lead intoa full scale reunion tour across the country or even the world? Chime in down below with your own thoughts and again “Happy Halloween”.
