The holiday season is officially upon us and that finds a lot of bands getting us excited for the months to come with new tour announcements. Earlier today, Queensryche revealed their 2023 plans with the “Digital Noise Alliance” Tour Announcement. Read on down below.
The Press Release:
Celebrating the release of their sixteenth studio album, ‘Digital Noise Alliance’, QUEENSRŸCHE have announced the 2023 Digital Noise Alliance Tour! The band has just wrapped up a Fall run in North America supporting Judas Priest on the 50 Heavy Metal Years Tour, and will now launch their first headlining campaign in the US supporting DNA!
The Press Release:
One of heavy metal’s all-time greats, Judas Priest, will get the opportunity to celebrate their 50th anniversary again this year with the launch of a new North American fall tour. The 50 Heavy Metal Years Tour will also feature Queensryche as openers and is being fueled by the highest charting album of Priest’s career, ‘Firepower,’ which peaked at #5 on the Billboard 200.
Additionally in 2022, Priest band members Rob Halford, Glenn Tipton, Ian Hill and Scott Travis will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Queensryche has been entertaining the masses of the Metal Legions with renewed force over the last couple of years and we last caught them when they were direct support for the mighty Scorpions. Now, the band has lined out a brand new album and an accompanying tour. Check out the full details which we culled from their Official Facebook Page.
The Press Release:
Rock icons Queensrÿche have just announced their newest album “The Verdict” out March 1st via Century Media Records. The band’s forthcoming release was produced, mixed and mastered by Zeuss (Rob Zombie, Iced Earth, Hatebreed) at Uberbeatz in Lynwood, WA, Planet-Z in Wilbraham, MA and Watershed Studio in Seattle, WA. Pre-orders and formats will be announced soon. In the meantime, the band has a Pledge pre-order campaign currently running HERE https://www.pledgemusic.com/projects/queensryche2
“I’m extremely proud of what we were able to accomplish on this record,” states Queensrÿche vocalist Todd La Torre about The Verdict. “The relentless dedication and hard work of everyone involved has been very rewarding. I am excited and looking forward to it no longer just belonging to us, but belonging to the world. We hope you all enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed making it!”
Michael “Whip” Wilton (guitar) adds, “The Verdict is the most metal and the most progressive record we have made in a long time. I couldn’t possibly be more excited for everyone to hear this.”
To support The Verdict, Queensrÿche have also announced their spring U.S. headline tour today with special guests Fates Warning. The Cringe will be joining both bands on select dates. The tour will kick off on March 2nd in Orlando, making stops in major markets such as New York, Atlanta, Chicago and Los Angeles, and will wrap on April 3rd in Seattle. The band recently finished a run supporting SCORPIONS this past September. Here’s a pairing of titanic Metal proportions, it seems as though Queensryche will be hitting the road once more and handling the headlining duties and bringing along those knights of Metal valor in Armored Saint as direct support. Check out the official tour press that I received a short time ago along with the poster and dates. I’ll return with some additional thoughts after that. This is going to be a good one.

Back at the beginning of the month I posted a blog narrative which spoke to the developments that had been going on within the Queensryche camp and touched upon the issues that were brewing with their founding member, vocalist Geoff Tate. You can read HERE first if you need a little bit of refresher. It was not a pleasant set of circumstances to say the least. Here are the latest developments….
Queensryche members have announced that Todd LaTorre is their new singer after officially parting ways with Geoff Tate. I’m really of mixed opinion on all of this because I love Geoff as a legendary Metal vocalist and really enjoy what I have heard Todd bring to the table as a member of Crimson Glory and in his samples of the classic Queensryche tunes. I really never wanted to see it come down to this because it also divides the fans in some sense. One has to envision this as similar to the time when the world saw Tim “Ripper” Owens taking over the vocals in Priest. The band did record some solid tunes but they really suffered as far as attendance and album sales.
As a fan of Geoff’s overall creativity and legacy I wish him well, and as a very longtime fan of what Queensryche has meant to the Heavy Metal music scene I wish the guys well in this interesting new chapter. I don’t think I ever mentioned to my readers that I first saw Queensryche when they had opened up for KISS on the “Animalize” tour back in 1984 or 85. They were brand new to the larger Metal audiences back then for sure.

I expect a veritable shit storm of postings on all of the news sites and many already feel we shall find more postings on these resources than we found happening when Mike Portnoy decided to leave Dream Theater. Only time will tell right?
