Earlier this week, Marvel Comics proudly announced an exciting new collaboration with Hasbro, a global leader in play, that would result in new collections of Rom the Spaceknight’s beloved comic book adventures. Today, Marvel is thrilled to reveal that another popular toy-originating comic book series will receive the same treatment: THE MICRONAUTS!
“Micronauts: The Original Marvel Years” Omnibus
From out of the Microverse, it’s the Omnibus you thought could never happen! The subatomic superstars headlined a long-running series packed with rich world-building, fascinating mythology and big-scale, sci-fi excellence! With the series set in the main Marvel Comics universe, the Micronauts joined forces with the X-Men and the Fantastic Four and dared to go up against the likes of Doctor Doom, Arcade, and other iconic Marvel super villains. Like ROM, these exemplary comic book classics were written by industry legend Bill Mantlo and will be reprinted for the first time ever in MICRONAUTS: THE ORIGINAL MARVEL YEARS OMNIBUS, on sale April 2024. Well my friends we have made it safety and somewhat soundly to the fourth and final day of the 2022 New York Comic Con and I cannot believe how fast the days have gone by. Calendar wise the convention ended over a week ago but our presentations keep on posting until we’ve finished with everything. So Day Four is historically known as the “Family Day” and this means that children under a certain age can come in with a special “Kids Pass”. That also means that its now even more crowded on the Sunday than used to only be found on the Saturday session. Now if you are only just joining us we are going to hold up a “You Shall Not Pass” sign and instead suggest that you click HERE to launch a new browser tab with all of the posts that have preceded this one. You’ll thank me later for sure. So today I’ve arrived before the doors were even open because I was on the hunt for the 9th and final Topps “Garbage Pail Kids” trading card. I will have this card if its the last thing that I do LOL.
Soon after the doors opened I raced to Topps and got that coveted card and then did a quick errand for a friend of mine. Now it was time to announce our presence for the day like I’ve been doing in the short clips. For those new to the program, they’ve gone to TikTok, Instagram Reels and of course YouTube which is the one I like to include in these editorials since its one of our most important networks. Greetings fellow Geeks, you know the drill and you know where you are right now, well, you should know at this point 🙂 For those just joining the program allow me to welcome you to the PiercingMetal in-depth visual overview of the 2019 New York Comic Con. I’m up to Part Three of the Day Two observations and I am just going to pick up from where I left you in Part Two. The newbies might want to click HERE first so they see all that’s come before this one.
As per usual, I am picking up from where I left off and here we see the lovely Hendo once more dressed in some sort of Psylocke/Playboy Bunny mashup. I stopped by here once more because as you can see there was a Vero booth. Vero was supposed to take the place of both Facebook and Instagram but it didn’t. I have an account that can be followed but so far I’ve barely used it.
This is Tom Bilyeu and he is the founder of Impact Theory Comics. I was happy to take an autographed copy of his “Hexagon” comic book.
IDW Publishing has a few adult coloring books that are the creative work of artist Alan Robert. Metalheads know him as one of the members of the band Life Of Agony as well and they have been very active of late so do check them out when you get the chance.
For the last few years one of the highlights of the convention exploration was dropping by the folks at Evil Ink Press. They are the publishers of the Science Fiction series “The Amory Wars”. This series is the brainchild of one Claudio Sanchez, singer and guitarist of Hard Rock/Progressive stalwarts Coheed and Cambria.
Claudio always does signings at the booth and the line is ridiculous. It’s awesome that he does this and I always make it a point to snap a quick photo or two when I know his schedule.
I slipped back down to Artist Alley for a few shots and couldn’t resist snapping this design by Michael Golden. Looks familiar doesn’t it? Do you know the story about it? It’s a hoot.

Greetings and felicitations my fellow Geeks and welcome to PiercingMetal’s comprehensive overview of the 2019 New York Comic Con. As you might notice, this is still the Day One visuals from the massive four-day affair but I am winding down on this day and will be sharing the sights and scenes from Day Two soon enough. I’m still down in the Artist Alley where I was when I last talked to you and am continuing on with pics of Art Baltazar and Franco. They each work on some super cute stuff.
Considering how many of these conventions that we’ve been attending for the sake of the Geek Media, it’s pretty safe to assume that we love the creativity and colorful displays to be found at events such as New York Comic Con, WinterCon and now the Big Apple Comic Con which was happening here in NYC just this past weekend.
Though we would have preferred to attend on the Saturday portion of the weekend, the only provisions that were offered were for Sunday so that would be the day of the exploration. PiercingMetal hasn’t been to BACC in a couple of years and it was based on my scheduling of other things at the same time but now its time to get back into the NY Groove with the coolness and the cosplay. Let’s go.
I’m just going to jump into the fray since my MTA journey to the city was an arduous one. Sunday train travel has been a beast of late and its become a reason I tend to avoid the day in Manhattan if at all possible. Oh yeah, this is Josh Adams, son of Neal. We’ll get to him later.
