The Press Release:
Metallica has confirmed that its record-breaking M72 World Tour will be extended into a third year, with the announcement of 21 North American shows spanning April, May and June 2025.

Two-night tickets for the newly announced No Repeat Weekends and tickets for the single-night engagements will be on sale September 27 at 10am local time. Fan club pre-sales begin September 23 at 10am local time. For further information, enhanced experiences, travel packages and more, go to THIS LINK.

Since opening April 2023 in Amsterdam, M72 has seen Metallica play to some three million fans. Variously hailed as “an altogether life-affirming experience” (Billboard), “impossible to leave unsatisfied” (Austin Chronicle), “a stone-cold stunner of a show” (Detroit News), “the mother of all summer concerts” (Worcester Telegram Gazette) and “as tight and furious as Metallica has sounded in ages” (Los Angeles Times), M72 continues to amaze fans and critics alike. The tour will conclude its triumphant 2024 run with four nights at Mexico City’s Estadio GNP Seguros, where Metallica will play to more than 250,000 fans over the course of two No Repeat Weekends.

At the time of this writing and publishing the post, the 66th Grammy Awards are already in progress on CBS and while I am not watching the proceedings I am able to share with you all the artists that won the “Rock and Metal” categories. Take a look and please enjoy that I’ve kept on including the Alternative categories as well.

Presenting The 2024 Grammy Nominations for Rock and Metal

grammy awards logo

It was just a short time ago that the Recording Academy had announced the nominations for the 2024 Grammy Awards and as is the usual practice here at the Metal Media High Command HQ, I’ve culled that almost 100 category list to serve up the nominations for the Rock and Metal releases. I’ve even kept to the inclusion of the Alternative stuff as well since sometimes that gets really close to the kind of stuff we are listening to as fans. There were some interesting nominations this time around.

Best Rock Performance – For new vocal or instrumental solo, duo/group or collaborative rock recordings.

Sculptures Of Anything Goes – Arctic Monkeys
More Than A Love Song – Black Pumas
Not Strong Enough – Boygenius
Rescued – Foo Fighters
Lux Æterna – Metallica

The mighty Metallica was touring in support of their recently release album “72 Seasons” and their touring cycle was going to bring them to MetLife Stadium for two nights. Night One was just last evening and found both Mammoth WVH and Pantera supporting while the upcoming Sunday show would feature Ice Nine Kills and Five Finger Death Punch supporting. In honor of these dates, two special Pop-Up Stores were launched with one being in East Rutherford NJ near the stadium and the other in Downtown Brooklyn not too far from the Manhattan Bridge. I took a trip down to the Brooklyn store and recorded this short video so Metallica fans from far and wide could see what was going on in there. The Brooklyn Pop-Up Store is located at 202 Plymouth Street, Brooklyn.
