Avatar Announces “Going Hunting” North American Tour

The band Avatar has announced a brand-new tour called the “Going Hunting Tour”. It will run for 36 dates and more about it can be learned below.

Ambitious sorcerers of the highest order, AVATAR smash the boundaries between band, theater troupe, and cinematic masterminds, with a series of celebrated albums and videos, and the immersive world of Avatar Country, a fantastical land where metal rules supreme. AVATAR songs are new anthems for the ages, precision heat-seeking missiles targeting a cultural landscape ready for fresh songs to champion from a band with a giant persona to rally behind.

Hunter Gatherer (2020) shares the determined focus of the conceptually driven Feathers & Flesh and Avatar Country while decisively emphasizing the individual songs above any overarching story. At the same time, there are thematic threads throughout the album, reflecting the members’ shared state of mind. Hunter Gatherer is the darkest, most sinister version of Avatar, with deep studies of cruelty, technology, disdain, and deprivation.

It was only a couple of months ago that we first shared the news about a new band that had been formed by drummer Max Portnoy (Son Of Mike) and Justin Bonitz who is cited as being a YouTube sensation. Fans of drummer Max Portnoy and YouTube sensation Justin Bonitz will be excited about the pairs new musical collaboration known as TALLAH. The news began circulating yesterday and I’ve shared the full press release with you below to enjoy. Dig in.

The Press Release:
Pennsylvania metal band Tallah is comprised of 5 members who share a passion for playing intense, heavy, and intricate music combined with an insane live show, unlike any other!

Influenced by bands such as Code Orange, Slipknot, Korn and Deftones, Tallah relies on the spirit of innovative metal realized through panicked guitar screams treated with industrial elements and distortion. Screaming vocals provided by YouTube sensation Justin Bonitz mixed with melodic choruses create a dreamlike vision in which the audience can live. Driving bass fills the room with deep and dirty tones that sync effortlessly with the thunderous bellows of the drums.

Metal Allegiance Announce Destination (Almost) East Coast Tour

By now you’ve heard about the Heavy Metal Supergroup known as Metal Allegiance and if not it’s a talent whirlwind that features Alex Skolnick, Mike Portnoy, Mark Oseguesda, Chuck Billy and more. They toured these parts a few months ago and it was a blast that was enjoyed by all. Earlier today a press release went out citing how the group would be swapping some members for a brief East Coast run. I’ve copied the press notice for you below so check out the poster, press copy and dates before I return with some additional thoughts.

The 7 day trek kicks off March 31st in Providence, Rhode Island followed by stops in Poughkeepsie, New Haven, and Lancaster before the final show on April 7th at the Gramercy in New York! Ghost Ship Octavius Unveil North American Tour Dates For 2015

Just got the word that the band Ghost Ship Octavius will be doing a brief touring run for the ardent fans. If the name is on the new side to you please don’t worry as its something you will remember soon enough as it features Matt Wicklund (God Forbid, Himsa) and Van Williams (Nevermore, Ashes Of Ares).
