Tonight: “Riverdale” Season 3 Premiere on The CW (10/10/2018)

There is a good chance that you are still wiped out from the recent NY Comic Con (and I know that I am). If this is how you are feeling then there is nothing better than relaxing in front of the television watching some awesome shows. Thanks to the programming on The CW Network, my DVR is working overtime and now its time to welcome back “Riverdale” which begins its own third season tonight. Check out the dramatic poster along with some premise and casting. I’ll close out with some additional opinion.

The CW Network: “Riverdale” SDCC 2018 Trailer

As previously mentioned, with the 2018 Comic Con International: San Diego (or SDCC) ending today, I’ve been showcasing all of the trailers for The CW Network of programming that are most topical to our demographic of readers. Essentially the comic book and horror themed stuff that came to light yesterday. I’ve actually finished with all of their super-hero programming and those clips along with several others that you might find interesting can be examined HERE. Our next clip takes us to the town of “Riverdale” to see what dramas and circumstance will befall Archie Andrews and his friends. Let’s take a look.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: I have to admit that I never thought I would find this show interesting but it actually is. Knowing the sugar coated fashion of the old Archie Comics as I did, I never expected a gritty, dark and often mysterious show about these characters in a real life setting would work but it did. I gave it a shot by running the DVR on a few episodes and found myself tuning in each and every week. On the comics side, there are more gritty and serious Archie Comics on the stands. Some of them use a bit of an “Elseworlds” premise and have him fending off zombies and the like and believe it or not, the character was even killed off in his own title in one of these potential futures. Amazing. Oh yeah and he’s met both The Ramones and KISS which I got a kick out of. “Riverdale” was even a part of this years “Free Comic Book Day” and recapped the first episode of the series on the printed page. If you’ve found any interest in these characters I say give the show a run through as its rather unique. That’s all I have to say about it. If you’ve watched it and enjoyed it, let me know down in the comments section below.

Tonight: “Riverdale” Series Premiere on The CW (1/26/2017)

The live teen drama “Riverdale” gets its season premiere this evening on The CW. It’s the show that I’ve discussed a couple of times when I shared the trailers and while the teaser was nothing to speak of, the extended one makes this seem like quite the curiosity of a show. Below is a photo of the cast sitting in that malt shop that they frequented in the comics and I have to say that they look pretty serious. It makes sense since the extended trailer showed a murder and some duplicity among the principle players. The cast and the folks they portray are below the photo.
