For the first time since their 2019 happening, the PiercingMetal High Command was going to be on point at the annual Flame Con. Now what is Flame Con? Well, according to their own website Flame Con is “The world’s largest and longest-running LGBTQIA+ comics and pop culture convention”. I’ve been attending this event since 2017 as one of the media geeks so it was great to find them being able to hold the in-person event once again. It would once again be held at the Times Square Sheraton.

The COVID-19 Pandemic found their 2020 event cancelled in full and then in 2021 they went virtual. The world found both San Diego Comic Con and New York Comic Con doing virtual stuff as well but truth be told I just couldn’t find myself getting anything done at those. Like many I would keep on hoping for the return of in person things. Now as the Summer of 2022 draws to a close some of the events were still following strict COVID protocols. For Flame Con you not only had to wear a mask the entire time but you also had to show proof of being vaccinated.
