“Happy New Year and Welcome Back!!!” Did you have a nice New Year’s Eve? Is your head still ringing like a fire bell? I will hope that it’s just a little bit of a headache and oh if you are wondering how the heck I am already up and at ’em and posting the first blog post ever for 2013 at this unholy hour wonder no more. I programmed it to go online yesterday afternoon (snicker). Ah the magic of technology. So let’s get right down to it and enjoy the continued “New Year’s Music Resolutions for 2013” from some musical greats.
1. Gogo Melone (Luna Obscura): If the world won’t destroy in December 21 which will be very odd because we already live in a destroyed world :)) then my New Year’s Music Resolution for 2013 will be to finish the recordings and everything for Luna Obscura’s new album plus my solo work “Black Silent Vision”. Both have very dark, emotional music and is the most mature stuff that we have ever write so it’s imperative need for us to share them with our fans. It was exactly six months to the day when I last caught a once again touring Lynch Mob and that was when the band was acting as direct support for the Michael Schenker Group back in July. The show was great but Lynch and his merry mates only played about seven songs which left the fans that were excited to see him up there again leaving slightly disappointed with the short set. That made tonight’s appearance at B.B. King’s something that they were looking forward to because it was announced that he would be performing a combined “Best Of” set of both Lynch Mob and Dokken material with his band. I had to admit that this interested me very much especially when you considered how drummer “Wild” Mick Brown was once again working with the axe slinger. That made this particular configuration of the group as close to the original as possible with the exception of original bassist Anthony Esposito. The second change in the lineup for tonight would be on bass, as Robbie Crane from Ratt was in place for this go round. The openers listed for the show would be both Sonic Bliss and Wille Basse but I would not catch them and only focus my attention on Mr. Lynch. Continue reading Lynch Mob @ B.B. July had been a very excellent month for concerts so far but today the buzz across the Metal Republic was all intensely focused on the wedding of Chelsea Clinton………oh wait, I’m mistaken since none of us gave a rats ass about that stuff and instead we were all preparing ourselves for the return of the one and only Michael Schenker Group. MSG had performed over at The Gramercy Theatre last year and this killer show found a revitalized Michael Schenker which was a great treat as the musician had been dealing with “issues” for a couple of years prior to it. Now back on top of his game he continues to tour with singer Gary Barden at the microphone. This tour would continue to showcase the talents of guitarist/keyboardist Wayne Findlay as well and bring along the surprise new bass work of Elliot Dean and legendary drummer Carmine Appice. The tour also gave us two opening bands with Sister Sin and Lynch Mob. Here is how the hot night in NYC went down for those who were foolish enough to pass it by.
