Coming Early 2020: The Sundance/Roxy Reunion w Zebra, Overkill, Y&T & More

The Heavy Metal and Hard Rock music scene of years gone by will leaf backward through the pages of its history book to some really good times and celebrate a famous concert promoter and the two venues that were under his command. The Press Release:
On Saturday February 15th and Saturday February 22nd 2020, Long Island music venue impresario Frank Cariola’s decades spanning career will be celebrated in a 2 Night event at Mulcahy’s Concert Hall in Wantagh staged with an all star lineup presented by Loaded Concerts. The 90 year old Cariola will be present at the shows to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award that he has certainly proven himself to be worthy of.

Frank Cariola’s Sundance started as a country music club in January 1981 in Bay Shore, New York, eventually switching over to rock in 1985. If that sounds like a familiar story, it is. Hilly Crystal’s CBGB’s, which stood for “Country, Bluegrass and Blues,” was originally a country music bar before changing over to the seminal punk rock mecca that it became. Likewise, after Sundance became a rock venue, it hosted some of the biggest rock and heavy metal bands in history.

This Weekend: The Black N Blue Bowl – 2014 @ The Well

Since I know many of our awesome readers are fans of a number of the bands performing on this years bill, I wanted to send out a reminder post that this weekend (May 17th and 18th) over at The Well in beautiful Greenpoint, Brooklyn will be the Black N Blue Bowl for 2014…..Check out the poster below.

The event starts super early as you can see and that makes complete sense with the amount of bands that are performing each of the two nights. The first night will be headlined by Hatebreed and just before them will be the one and only Agnostic Front. They’ll also play on Saturday before Discharge and fans should be aware that this will be the only area appearance for AF with their “Cause For Alarm” lineup.  Considering we can also count on sets from Biohazard, Ludichrist and many, many more you know that the fans of this music are going to be talking about it for months after it has passed.   Should you not be able to make it this year you can always keep up with the event happenings via its official page and their social networks.  Start from the main site and work your way around from there.  It’s usually the best way.   If you are going, always remember the rules “if someone goes down you pick them up”.  Don’t let anyone get hurt.  Have fun.

I’ve embedded some links to albums by the main performers for those who might still need some education in their offerings. You’re welcome 🙂

The Details: The Black N Blue Bowl is the Superbowl of Hardcore music and from beginning to end there is not another event like this one. Over the course of this coming weekend’s two days we will see over twenty five bands taking to the stage for an all-day affair that that is going to leave its audience exhausted and possibly black and blue. Oh I see what you guys did there. Clever. Anyway, this years event finds Hatebreed and Discharge closing out the Friday and Saturday night events and the great Agnostic Front have assembled their “Cause For Alarm” lineup who will perform exclusively on both nights. How cool is that? We’ll also have Biohazard, Ludichrist, Sworn Enemy and more which I have listed for you below in order of their performance schedule. Headliners down is how I’ve presented this by the way.
