The Press Release:
The Harvey Awards today revealed this year’s inductees into the Harvey Awards Hall of Fame ahead of the ceremony on Friday, October 18, 2024, during New York Comic Con. The inductees include manga creator Akira Toriyama (Dragon Ball Z) and comic book creators Arthur Adams (Uncanny X-Men), Larry Hama (G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero), Sergio Aragonés (MAD), and John Buscema (The Avengers).

“This year’s induction class includes legendary manga creator Akira Toriyama, and we gratefully honor his genius by inducting him into our Hall of Fame,” said John Lind, co-chair of the Harvey Awards.

“We at the Harvey Awards are also thrilled to finally induct Sergio Aragonés, a cartoonist whose work defined MAD magazine for a legion of die-hard fans. Additionally, we’re inducting Arthur Adams, one of the most influential artists of his generation—he is your favorite artist’s favorite artist—and Larry Hama, who made long-lasting contributions to comics and pop culture and helped build a world around G.I. Joe that still resonates with fans. Finally, we’ll posthumously induct the esteemed John Buscema, a prolific artist whose work helped shape the look of Marvel Comics throughout the 1960s, ’70s, and ’80s.”

Exploring NY Comic Con 2017: Day Three (Part 1)

Okay so here we are again and before this installment gets underway let me thank you for sticking with this group of narratives for so many parts already. To me as a photographer and journalist, the NY Comic Con is one of the most daunting of events to cover because its not only massive in scope but its also taking over other locations as well. Sure we have the Press Badge as our credentials but that doesn’t let you jump lines to cover panels and appearances, you have to arrive early as all heck to make sure you are inside those. As result, I stick to the Javits Center generally and explore as much as possible as you have seen in the past posts. Day Three is the Saturday session and the most attended historically speaking. Part 1 of this days overview will begin in a moment and find me exploring Artist Alley and some other regions. If you missed anything that came before this post, click on THIS LINK to open a battery of content to peruse. Shall we?

I’m also going to keep featuring all of the cosplayers that stop and talk to me because they are awesome and deserve to be celebrated.

Exploring NY Comic Con 2015; Day 3 – Part 2

Good morning my friends and welcome back to the visual recap of the 2015 NY Comic Con. I’m now up to the second chapter of the Day Three part of the adventuring which is the Saturday session and as historically confirmed is the busiest and most populated day of the massive event. I’ll begin with this charming Atlantean couple who you know as Aquaman and Mera. King and Queen of Atlantis. Welcome your Highness.
