Today is “International Women’s Day” and since I saw numerous posts focusing on some sensational female Metal and Rock singers I decided to do something similar here on the PiercingMetal website. Since our debut as an online magazine, I’ve witnessed some true powerhouses rule the stages of New York City and sometimes beyond. After digitally leafing through folder after folder I was able to fashion what I think is a great representation of some of Heavy Metal’s greatest ladies. The photos are filed alphabetically and no one pictured below should find you scratching your head. As time permits I’ll add in more text but for now please enjoy the photos. They were all taken by me from across a numerous span of years at a wide number of venues in our region. Enjoy.

Lacuna Coil celebrates 20 Years of “Comalies” and brings along the Butcher Babies and Uncured to support the festivities. This is night two of two at NYC’s own Gramercy Theatre. Come to one or do them both, I’m sure the band would love either decision.

Apocalyptica returns at last to New York City and will bring along Lacuna Coil for the tour. You don’t want to miss these exciting acts who’ve been waiting for too long to make their appearances here again.

The Press Release:
After the festival has been postponed (discussed HERE), we are now looking forward to Wacken Open Air 2022: We can already unveil the first bands for W:O:A today, which will take place from August 4th to 6th, 2022. There are also first announcements for Wacken Wednesday on August 3rd, 2022!

Jan Quiel from the booking team explains: “We want to move as much of the planned program into next year as possible and we are currently having highly positive discussions on it. Some bands already do have other plans for 2022, so we are more than happy to have great interest from new bands to join the line-up.”
