Stitched Up Heart Announce Spring Tour Dates w Kaleido

stitched up heart logo

As a frequent live concert goer, I’ve always indulged in the practice of arriving early enough to see the support acts. Over the years this has found me chatting up a bounty of talented people and many of these acts are now headliners in their own right. One of the bands are the folks over at Stitched Up Heart and they’ve recently revealed some tour dates for the Spring, and on select dates another band we’re fond of here at the Metal Media Command HQ is Kaleido. Check the poster and dates out below – I’ve only noted the ones Kaleido will be on since the rest are easily seen in the poster.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: I’m an advocate for arriving early and getting my money’s worth at a show and yes this still applies when I am using my assorted media passes because you just never know what you will see up there on the stage until you see it. Bands like Stitched Up Heart and Kaleido are also all about their fans and the support that you give them and can be found easily around the clubs they are playing or at their merch table doing signings and selfies and with so many of the giants charging an arm and a leg nowadays for the simplest of things I feel that some free stuff is a cool opportunity to take advantage of. I’ll be checking my schedule for the regionally close appearance since I’d like to check this one out as well and for those who are new to these names, just click on the Amazon.com codes for their two most recent singles. Hey, if you don’t like them after you purchase them we’ll even refund you the money from the Swiss Bank account of the PiercingMetal Media High Command HQ (fine print, no refunds will be honored as both tracks together are less than the smallest cup of Starbucks coffee). Those of you who have supported the bands should chime in and help their cause. We are all in this together after all. See you next time.

September Mourning Announces “Summer Soul Collection” Tour

It’s as hot as the dark regions of the Netherworld and that makes it the optimum time to announce the return to the live stage of September Mourning who will be embarking on their “Summer Soul Collection” tour with support from our friends in Kaleido. I’ve culled the bands brief Facebook notice about it with the dates and will be closing out with some editorial. Let’s go.

Detroit’s Kaleido Shares “To The Boat And Back” 2018 Dates

The Scoop:
In keeping up with getting you the information that you need as fast as possible for our 2018 Musical Year, let me share the poster that those folks in Kaleido recently posted. The band is going to be on the next “Shiprocked” Cruise which sure sounds like a blast, and afterwards they will be hitting the road as both a headliner and by supporting a band called The Letter Black. Since the poster is pretty clear, I’ll not be lining out the individual dates one by onw and say “read on”……

PiercingMetal Thoughts: Sadly, I’m not going to Shiprocked and since my city was recently blanketed by a pile of the white with subzero temperatures I really wish that I was. I’ve managed to catch Kaleido a couple of times when they made their way to good ole NYC and think that their rocking style works on all levels. Sometimes there is a Pop vibe to the deliver and at others they pack a powerful punch so I’d say give them a try if one of these gigs is hitting your vicinity. I’m going to hope that they pay our Big Apple a visit soon as I feel its been too long between trips. Having met Christina Chriss (their dynamic singer) and the rest of the guys (Joey, Cody and Ronnie) I can say that they are great people who all get a charge out of their supporters. Trust me on this one. Okay, back to the grind and hoping to keep warm as NYC drops below 0 degrees. You can let me know what you think of this tour if you plan on going and if you are one of the people embarking on that cruise be sure to catch their set and send them our best. Cheers.

Happy Halloween 2017: Rockers Divulge Their Favorite Horror Films

It’s Halloween and with this post I am giving you a treat that will not promote tooth decay nor lead you to issues with your waistline. In the spirit of my inquiries that featured “Music Resolutions”; I’ve polled a number of Metal and Rock musicians in my world and asked them “What is your favorite Horror movie and why”. So get some popcorn, dim the lights and sit under a cozy blanket as we learn of some awesome talents favorite creepy film. It’s a lengthy list but splitting this one into parts didn’t make sense. Let’s go.

Chris Caffery (Savatage/Trans-Siberian Orchestra): “Halloween”. Because it was the only movie that not only scared me in the theaters it scared me afterwards in real life. In my opinion it’s the best horror film ever made. In the sense of true horror. A real killer. There was no superhuman bs in the first one. Just pure evil.

Gogo Melone (Aeonian Sorrow): From old films was “Dracula”… I really like the atmosphere and as a kid I was a big fan of vampires. The movie that scared my ass off the most and had nightmares for days with, were “The Ring” and “The Exorcism of Emily Rose”…I don’t think I’ll ever see them twice again ??

Jimmy Kunes (Cactus): God there’s so many. “Fearless Vampire Killers”, I know it’s a spoof. But what a film!!!

Elise Ryd (Amaranthe): “The Shining”. Those two kids are the most scary thing I’ve seen. And I don’t like that dude Johnny towards the end. “Here’s Johnny” ? And this is true.. Every time I’m in a hotel with long corridors I expect those kids to show up in the end of the hallway. Haha, that image is haunting me, STILL! It’s Enshrined in my memory.

Archie Kuosmanen (Santa Cruz): Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining because it’s the undisputed heavyweight champion of horror flicks!
