“Sandman” Audible Pavilion From New York Comic Con 2021

Hey there my friends, I am taking a pause in the day by day postings from the New York Comic Con to do another side posting from one of the items that attendees were able to enjoy. I felt this breaks it all up nicely but if you are just joining us you are going to want to click HERE first to see the other posts that have come before it. So this is the “Sandman” Audible experience and that’s an audio book for those who are unaware. This experience takes you to several places in the story and each had a brief summary of what it was and a means to do a photo op. If you connected to their link and snapped a photo one of the characters would appear in the image with you. I just took simple snaps so let’s go into The Dreaming.

It feels like a lifetime ago when we all collectively said goodbye to our favorite serial killer “Dexter” and truth be told that series finale ending was a bit of a letdown. I think it came close to rivaling the dismay that the fans of “The Sopranos” felt with that whole fade to black thing. Yeah I realize I might have ruined that for those of you who didn’t watch it but that show has been gone even longer and you had plenty of time to catch up during the pandemic but where was I. Oh yeah, “Dexter” is returning to Showtime with a brand-new show that picks up years later where he ended up and this exclusive sneak-peek trailer was just released. Enjoy.

The Premise: Ten years after faking his death, Dexter Morgan has moved to the fictional small town of Iron Lake, New York, hiding his identity under the name of Jim Lindsay, a local shopkeeper. He has developed a relationship with Angela Bishop, the town’s chief of police, and has suppressed his serial killing urges. A string of incidents around Iron Lake causes Dexter to fear that the “Dark Passenger” within him will reveal itself.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: I have to admit that this second trailer is a whole lot creepier than the first one was and had me startled a few times. I’m still on the fence about seeing it in the theater around the time that it opens since I’ll have a busy calendar around the end of March and well into April based on events and some other films that are higher on my own list to see. Let’s see what happens. What about you readers? Have you been sold on the film by this second trailer? Chime in down below in the comments section so we know that you are out there and seeing this stuff. Until we meet again.

In an effort to keep up with a little bit more from the Horror side of the fence for our “Film and Television” area, I’m thrilled and just a little bit scared to share the first full trailer from the new film “Pet Sematary”. This is a reworking of the now classic tale by Horror scribe Stephen King and you can watch it below. I’ve even added some premise, casting and one of the first posters revealed for the film.

The Premise: “Based on the novel by Stephen King, Pet Sematary follows Dr. Louis Creed, who, after relocating with his wife Rachel and their two young children from Boston to rural Maine, discovers a mysterious burial ground hidden deep in the woods near the family’s new home.
