Thrash It Up; Warbringer Signs To Napalm Records

Fans of the band Warbringer will be excited about this news since it seems the thrashing maniacs that we came to know on Century Media Records have now signed onto Napalm Records. Check out the full press release and statements below.

The Press Release:
Napalm Records is proud and honored to announce the signing of US Thrash Metallers WARBRINGER! Started in 2004 by High School fellow metal heads, the members of Los Angeles’ own WARBRINGER have made their way up through the metal scene. After four releases and an endless succession of tours with the likes of Arch Enemy, Exodus, Suicide Silence, Megadeth, Napalm Death, Iced Earth, Kreator to name just a few, this hard working five-piece is ready to take the next step together with Napalm Records.

John Kevill, front man of WARBRINGER comments on the signing:

“We are excited to announce a new record deal with Napalm Records! We have been writing for the last couple months, the riffs are flowing and the new material is sounding goddamn lethal. We are planning to record at the end of summer and release it early next year, followed by a full worldwide touring campaign. The writing is being led by longtime members drummer Carlos Cruz and guitarist Adam Carroll, as well as myself, and we are being joined by Chase Becker on the lead guitar and Jessie Sanchez dropping the bass-hammer.

I’ve been on a mission to make this record for three years since Empires… was released, and it’s great to see it finally coming to fruition. Thank you all the people at Napalm Records for their interest in the band, and thank you to the fans for your continued and undying support, We’ll see you out there next year. Keep it heavy my friends! Signing off.”

Sebastian Muench, A&R Napalm Records states:

“I have been following WARBRINGER´s progress throughout the last 4 fantastic releases and am extremely confident that with the band’s first release under the Napalm banner WARBRINGER could step in the footsteps of Thrash Metal Titans like Exodus, Kreator or Testament! We will work our asses off to make the album a success! Welcome to the Napalm family!”

The band is currently in the studio recording their upcoming masterpiece. Stay tuned for more info!

WARBRINGER is: John Kevill – Vocals, Adam Carroll – Guitar, Chase Becker – Guitar, Jessie Sanchez – Bass and Carlos Cruz – Drums

PiercingMetal Thoughts: There was a time not too long ago when audiences would catch Warbringer on the touring runs for every 3 or 4 out of 6 tours that were coming through their respective towns. Some loved them and some grew tired of it but that never took away from the bands being able to rile up the storm at each show. I always gave them that credit and think that perhaps Napalm Records will be a good home for their sound as they aim for the future. Keep your eyes set on the Events Calendar that we keep here on the website so you will know right away when they are heading your way. Good luck on the new signing guys I am sure that we will be aiming the lens at you again sometime soon.

Warbringer Announces Winter 2016 Tour With Enforcer

Earlier today I mentioned that there were a lot of tours being announced and it was not long after I mused that aloud that those thrashing Californians in Warbringer have returned to action and were announcing a Winter Tour for the beginning of 2016 with Enforcer, Cauldron and Exmortus. I’ve secured the official press release for you all along with the poster and am sharing it with you below. Then we can talk about this a little more before closing up. Here we go.

Tour - Warbringer and Enforcer - 2016

The Press Release:
Southern California thrash-metal five piece, WARBRINGER have built a reputation for themselves over the past five years having recorded four albums and touring the planet with relentless drive and passion. Now after a year-long hiatus, a tour of Asia, a small run of California shows and a few lineup changes, they are writing this summer and plan to record in the fall. They have also just announced a full North American tour in early 2016 with Enforcer and a South American Tour in July.

New Year’s Music Resolutions for 2014: Chapter 2

new year's music resolutions

Welcome back to our annual series of “New Year’s Music Resolutions”; it’s our third year doing this and still a blast to get a glimpse inside these talented artists plans for the year. That said, let’s get down to business with the second chapter.

1. Mike LePond (Symphony X): My New Year’s Music Resolution is to release a new Symphony X and a new Solo album all in the same year.

2. JUNGLE ROT: To keep positive about our Industry when things go wrong or bad, I will make the best of it. Mostly while on the road, like when touring and having to make sure that we are getting paid out for the night, dealing with getting taxed on merch, even making sure to get our buy-out to eat for that day. Trying to stay positive after doing an 8hrs drive from the night before and pulling up to the venue and there is nowhere to park, even after you confirmed with the club that there would be, and to keep positive when we have to drive around for another hour trying to land a spot. (This is a sign of a bad night.) After 20 yrs. of touring and dealing with the business side of the band, it has taken a toll on me. I am starting to enjoy myself again over the last two years or so, and staying positive as much as I can has a lot to do with it. It took me a while, but I found out in the end that my bandmates have my back and will always assure me that when things get tough, that things will be all-right and will get better.

Pestilence @ Gramercy Theatre (6/17/2010)

Logo - Pestilence

Artist: Pestilence
Venue: Gramercy Theatre (New Yotk, NY)
Opener: Vital Remains, Warbringer, Enfold Darkness, Sacrificial Slaughter, Praetorian
Date: 6/17/2010
Label: Mascot Records

There was quite bit of “buzz” around the return of Pestilence to these shores among my immediate circle of friends in the Metal community and while they were never a band I followed, these folks interest alone helped to firm up my own curiosity in checking out something new to my Metal ears. Stylistically the band is listed as Death Metal but they incorporate elements of Jazz and Fusion to their sound. Their return to NYC for the first time hitting the region in sixteen years would come with a bevy of bands along for the ride. Featured tonight would be local support Praetorian along with Sacrificial Slaughter, Enfold Darkness, Vital Remains and Warbringer. I almost missed this show since it was originally listed as being a late evening show after some discussion about it being cancelled altogether. Sometimes the Gramercy Theatre holds Metal events very late in the evening as we found them doing with Ensiferum who played at 12:30 one time. My schedule kept me from seeing the local openers and Sacrificial Slaughter but I would get in just in time to see Enfold Darkness take the stage. Here is how what I caught took place.
