Devildriver Announces Remastered Catalog via BMG Music

The Press Release:
Southern Californian groove metal kings DEVILDRIVER are set to reissue revamped editions of their first five albums via BMG on CD on September 28, 2018. Limited edition LP versions will be available as part of Rocktober promotions in the U.S. with DevilDriver, The Fury Of Our Maker’s Hand, and The Last Kind Words on October 2 and Pray For Villains and Beast on October 16. For more information and updates, please visit the link below.

Formed in Santa Barbara, CA in 2002 when vocalist and frontman Dez Fafara’s previous band Coal Chamber were winding down, DEVILDRIVER became Dez’s new focus in the world of heavy music. The five-piece have since become a constant and dynamic force in the metal world over the best part of the last two decades. Originally signed to Roadrunner Records, in 2003 the group then featured guitarists Jeff Kendrick and Evan Pitts (who was replaced by Mike Spreitzer later that year), bassist Jon Miller and drummer John Boecklin. It’s been a constant uptick for the quintet since they first blasted a hole through the zeitgeist in 2003 with their pivotal self-titled debut. Their almost psychotic dedication to the road is legendary and their mastery of the circle pit beyond dispute. Now their fans can get their hands on their catalogue in revamped, remastered form, with all but one title being pressed on vinyl for the very first time.

“Zombie” Acoustic (Single) by Bad Wolves

Artist: Bad Wolves
Title: “Zombie” Acoustic (Single)
Label: Eleven Seven Music
Release Date: 5/25/2018
Genre: Acoustic Rock
Rating: 4.5/5

What’s that saying again? “So nice they did it twice” – I think that is the line or something else very close to it. Whatever the exact verbiage might be, the thought I am getting at is the fact that the brand new band Bad Wolves have achieved a level of bombastic success with their cover of The Cranberries song “Zombie” that was released as a single in memory of that bands singer Dolores O’Riordan. At the point of this writing the world at large still does NOT know the cause of the singers passing which is a shame. Now the Bad Wolves version of the song was nothing less than jarring and powerful and after I listened a few times was added to the content of our website on a summary you can examine HERE. The other day the band issued an acoustic version of the track and here are my thoughts about it.

“Zombie” (Single) by Bad Wolves

Artist: Bad Wolves
Title: “Zombie” (Single)
Label: Eleven Seven
Release Date: 1/19/2018
Genre: Alt-Metal
Rating: 4/5

The sudden and quite surprising dead of singer Dolores O’Riordan of The Cranberries hit a world of music fans hard since she was not only loved but also only 46 years of age. Her death followed that of the legendary “Fast” Eddie Clarke of the Original Motorhead and left music fans with the mindset of here we go again with the regular passing on of musical greats. Earlier today, I was tooling around in Spotify and saw that the band Bad Wolves had recorded The Cranberries seminal hit “Zombie” and since I had wanted to check them out I felt that this would be the perfect launching point for me. Let’s give their version of the classic tune a listen I said and from the moment it started I was down with it. There is a solemn beginning that might bring a slight Five Finger Death Punch vibe to your mind but its only there for a second as singer Tommy Vext showcases a sonic register across the main verse.
