I’ve been making sure to line out a lot of the exclusive items that you might want to be on the hunt for at the end of the month Comic Con International: San Diego (or SDCC for short) and now we’ve gotten to the massive rundown of awesome coming care of IDW Publishing. This is a long list so get a cup of coffee before this one and start marking stuff down on your mobile device if you are planning on hitting the con. Here we go with the press release first.

Be on the lookout every day for unique bundle packages that will include trade paperback collections, hardcovers, rare variants and more! Every day we’ll be offering TWO title-specific bundles that include a free high-quality Tom Whalen print. IDW will also debut brand new enamel pins, available for the first time ever! Pin availability will change each day so be sure to come back and get yours! These convention exclusives are only available for pick up at IDW’s SDCC booth #2743 throughout the convention or at the San Diego Comic Art Gallery from July 21st through July 24th. The gallery, located in the Liberty Station Arts District in the Point Loma area of San Diego, currently features exhibits by acclaimed artists Kevin Eastman (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) and Walter Simonson (Thor, Ragnarök).

I’m tossing this trailer onto the site for all of the wonderful ladies in our readership based on my remembering just how many girls I grew up with that absolutely loved the animated series “Jem and The Holograms”. When the series first aired in 1985, it seemed to inspire the female youth of the nation and was quite the success. The show came care of the same studios that gave us both “G.I. Joe” and “Transformers” which were regularly watched by this writer and while I never saw a single episode of Jem, I admired its art and how it had an impact on my female companion. Recently the trailer was released for the upcoming live action musical film and I’ve embedded it for you all to see.

PiercingMetal Goes To New York Comic Con 2011: Day 2; Part 1

Friday was here and we were now at what amounted to the true beginning of the NY Comic Con for 2011. Yesterday’s preview that we managed to get during the Press, Professionals & VIP Ticket Holders day was great, but it was only a three hour tour of what was there and this event is not something that is easily digested in that amount of time by any stretch of the imagination. As mentioned in the first chapter of these adventures I will be breaking the days up into different parts to allow an easier manner of enjoyment. I snapped a lot of photos and the Press adventuring continues now.

Once again joining me for the Con would be Skeleton Pete as he was mapping out his own coverage on his blog. The weather on Friday was being reported on the questionable side so we arrived at the Javits Center shortly after the doors to the tremendous space had been opened. As we walked down the street we witnessed a lot of the Cosplayers heading in the same direction and our first photo for the day was this charming Harley Quinn. She surprised me when she said she had remembered me and the website from the Emilie Autumn show that was back in February. Here we see her willing to hench for hugs and with a mini Joker.
