PiercingMetal Thoughts: Though I’ve really enjoyed sharing these teasers since they help up the amount of content in our Pop Culture Comic narratives, I still really don’t like to say all that much until we get the full scoop. I’ve not followed the “Iron Fist” character in many years so have no idea what is in store for him but you readers are most welcome to chime in if you feel a notion will add to the topical nature of the post. That being said I shall return with the reveal of whatever Marvel Comics and their creative teams have in store for the Immortal Iron Fist. See you then.

Netflix Cancels “Marvel’s Iron Fist” After Second Season

marvel's iron fist logo

The Scoop:
The Netflix/Marvel collaboration and original series “Iron Fist” (sometimes listed as “Marvel’s Iron Fist”) has been cancelled by the streaming service a little over a month after the second season became available for streaming. Read more down below.

The joint statement was snagged from Deadline who first reported this yesterday and while I couldn’t locate a full on press released figure that they are a really reliable source for this kind of thing. “Marvel’s Iron Fist will not return for a third season on Netflix, Everyone at Marvel Television and Netflix is proud of the series and grateful for all of the hard work from our incredible cast, crew and showrunners,”. “We’re thankful to the fans who have watched these two seasons, and for the partnership we’ve shared on this series. While the series on Netflix has ended, the immortal Iron Fist will live on.”

PiercingMetal Thoughts: Now I remember a lot of my friends saying how much they hated “Iron Fist” out of the rest of the Netflix shows and while I wasn’t on the same page as them since I enjoy the character, can see why some of their issues were louder than the rest. For me the main one was that he never wore a costume of any kind and what I want in all of these series and movies are costumed heroes. Like in their comic books. I didn’t hate Finn Jones and I loved Jessica Henwick and Simone Missick who while never called the title, were an excellent “Daughters Of The Dragon”. The second season was much better than the first but I guess it wasn’t enough. Back to the comic books with you Iron Fist, unless they are making this move to offer up a larger angle like they did with “Defenders”. What do you readers think about this? Were you as shocked as I was about it or are you happy to see it go and think that something much better is going to replace it? Chime in down below.
