At the time that you are reading this, I am already on my way to the currently in progress New York Comic Con which began its annual takeover of the Javits Center this past Thursday. The 2025 edition of the famed convention marks my fifteenth annual attendance in a professional capacity and with my being a close to lifetime fan of comic books, toys related to said franchises and Science Fiction and Horror films I knew that 2025 was going to be a bountiful affair. Now speaking of takeovers, this post is being cobbled together to let you know that our Official PiercingMetal Instagram is going to be rife with visuals and videos from the New York Comic Con. I know that I’ve usually done these in the past but this time around I am starting with this part of the content creation to start your day off properly. According to my mobile device, the calculated steps I’ve taken over the previous two days are just shy of 20K which amounts to being just short of 10 miles. Saturday was going to be chaotic busy at the convention and I’m off to a Metal show post so I’d rather you all be tooling around on The Gram nice and early and being more in the mix with me as its all happening. My plan of action is to snap as much as possible for the social media platforms and the eventual website day by day features. It was just this past weekend that the PiercingMetal High Command was once again in attendance for the continually expanding Anime NYC convention at the Javits Center. While this is their ninth year of operating the exciting convention, its technically the eighth in-person event as 2020 was forced into being a virtual one due to the pandemic. I’m posting this alert a couple of days post-convention since I needed to use one day to recharge and recalibrate not only the gear but myself. Having attended all four days and covering some serious ground I was completely exhausted. This post is being done to direct you all over to the Official PiercingMetal Instagram which will be taken over by the visuals that we found at the con. Once again I paid a heavy emphasis on the cosplayers since they were so awesome and had some incredible costumes. I should mention that while this post presents you with the first Gram post from the event, I’ve been posting since Thursday so there are dozens of visuals to enjoy and comment on from the 2025 Anime NYC. I’m not the biggest study of Anime so if you know a cosplayer who is in a photo or the character that they were bringing to life I encourage you to engage with us and chime in with that information so I can make the proper edits.
Though I generally like to be more on point with things like this, I have been quite busy since the 2025 Winter edition of the Cosmic Con happened over at the Metropolitan Pavilion. To be completely honest, this time of the year is insane for “The Chronicles of Piercing Ken” website but that being said here we are. Some of the readership might remember my posting about this convention a few times over the last couple of years since it had been held in Flushing Queens over at the Tangram Mall. This time around the event had moved into Manhattan and taken over one of the floors of the Metropolitan Pavilion. This is an event space that I know very well from a number of Art Fairs and other specialty conventions and trade shows. I attended the convention on the Saturday and after having posted the show overview on the website and a few artist interviews for the Official YouTube Channel, I neglected to get around to this piece of the creative puzzle. For the next few days I wanted to direct your attention to our Official Instagram which will be serving up those latergrams in a small social media takeover of the account by the Cosmic Con. Generally speaking when I do such things I like to share the press badge but there was no such thing for this affair. That makes my first latergram the signage to the event.
This is pretty embarrassing. So as many of my more tenured readers know, when I go to a convention or trade show of any kind I like to let the event take over the Official Instagram of the website that was on point to cover it. After working on numerous posts about the event and even premiering a healthy batch of artist interviews for the Official YouTube Channel, I neglected to get around to this piece of the creative puzzle for the 2024 Five Points Festival. While I have the Toy Fair on the docket in the coming weeks, I want to do that little takeover starting today because why not. It let’s me have a bunch of latergram posts on The Gram and also reminds our audience of the coverage that was done if they missed it for some reason. I’ll begin with the image below that celebrates the spiffy press badge. I love fashioning a post with the badge and some of my fashion sense.
The time has come and well, actually also gone but with that being said, the PiercingMetal High Command was recently in attendance for all four days of the 2024 edition of the famed New York Comic Con. This year marked my fourteenth annual attendance in a professional capacity and as a diehard comic book and assorted geek culture things fan I knew that I would be put to task. I tend to cover the event solo and that means there was going to be a lot of exploring in the Javits Center. The space has been expanded over the recent years which means even more halls and aisles to get ourselves to. The purpose of this post is to make our readers aware that the Official Instagram for the website would once again be overtaken by the New York Comic Con in terms of the regular feed posts and the Reels. The full editorial narratives are being compiled as you read this with some of them already online along with any post convention announcements and alerts from the myriad of comic book industry companies that were in attendance. Not only will those posts be on PiercingMetal but they are also all resident on our self-proclaimed executive editorial branch of Ken Pierce Media. The plan and practices was the same as in previous attendances with content being shared on the site and also YouTube clips, these Instagram images and TikToks.
