Opening: “Solo: A Star Wars Story” in Theaters Everywhere (5/25/2018)

Yes my friends we have arrived at the release of another long-anticipated film and this one continues the “Star Wars” mythology by giving us a sort of origin story about that Space-pirate Han Solo. The film “Solo: A Star Wars Story” opens today in theaters everywhere so let’s take a look at the theatrical poster, some premise and the casting. I’ve even secured a couple of different theatrical posters for you in this post so how about that.

The Premise: A space Western, the film is centered on a young Han Solo and his adventures with his Wookiee partner Chewbacca, including their encounter with Lando Calrissian.

The Cast/Characters:
Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo
Woody Harrelson as Beckett
Emilia Clarke as Kira
Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian
Thandie Newton
Phoebe Waller-Bridge
Joonas Suotamo as Chewbacca
Paul Bettany as an undisclosed character
Jon Kasdan as Tag Greenley
Toby Hefferman as Bink Otauna
Ian Kenny – undisclosed role
Warwick Davis – undisclosed role
Clint Howard – undisclosed role

PiercingMetal Thoughts: Much like “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”, “Solo: A Star Wars Story” is a prequel to the main events that we’ve been following for so many years. “Rogue One” was an amazing film and I think I’ve seen that one at least ten times by now. I hope by now you’ve seen it because its just a wonderful story from beginning to end. “Solo” takes place before we initially meet him in “Star Wars: A New Hope” and the trailers looked like some thrilling fun so I have high hopes for it. I’ve already noted how disappointed I was with “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” and feel that the side tales might be the best way to keep the franchise interesting. I’m planning on seeing this film early in the run but it might be a couple of weeks based on a very busy personal calendar. What about you? Are you seeing it right away? If you do, please don’t post any sort of spoilers okay. Ciao for now.

Lucasfilm Presents: “Solo: A Star Wars Story” (2018) Teaser Trailer

This past Sunday during “The Big Game”, many were focused on the sportive play but I’ll have to admit that I was mostly interested on the trailers that we had learned were heading our way and were psyched at the first glimpse of the next “Star Wars” universe connected film “Solo: A Star Wars Story”. I’ve copied the premise along with the casting so scroll on down below.

Lucasfilm Presents: “Solo: A Star Wars Story” (2018) “Big Game” Spot

We’ve mentioned that while today is the day of “The Big Game” that are main interest is that of the commercials and the trailers from the movies that we generally steer towards and document here on the website for our fellow geeks. This next teaser hit not a long while ago and the last I heard it was not supposed to surface but I am glad it did. Presenting “Solo: A Star Wars Story”. Here we go.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: As you know I hold back on commentary about the teaser trailers and since the “Big Game” spot was only a minute long that applies here as well. They’ve noted that a longer trailer comes tomorrow so let’s stay tuned. I’ll be sharing that one for sure and then chiming in deeper about it. This looked promising but let’s wait until the full on trailer for our commentary. Stay tuned for that.

Fair To Midland @ Gramercy Theatre (3/31/2010)

Artist: Fair To Midland
Venue: Gramercy Theatre (New York, N.Y.)
Opener: Karnivool, Something To Burn
Date: 3/31/2010
Label: Serjical Strike

Before I begin this narrative I want to rewind a couple of years to when some friends told me that the opening band for The 69 Eyes & Wednesday 13’s show was very much worth seeing. Sadly I would bypass on their advice because with only limited background on the group I would choose to pass on this first up opening slot tonight and “wait for the next time”. Of course when I arrived at the venue I was informed about my missing something very, very special and that next time did not seem to come until this evening. If they did shows in the region I just was not paying as much attention to the scene as I think I am and that made their headlining set in NYC a definite, must not miss bit of entertainment. Not only was I curious beyond a doubt about their live gig but it was also the final day of our March Metal Madness adventures and wow what a month this had been when it came down to it. For some of you the band Fair To Midland is no longer a mystery and you might already know about how great and powerful the melodies are on that most recently released album “Fables From A Mayfly, What I Tell You Three Times Is True”. After learning what I had missed out on I sunk my teeth into the album as well and regretted my decision of the time. Oh well, let that be a lesson to me – when a number of friends in “the know” recommend something, it is very smart for me to walk along the same path and see what the buzz is all about. The show would be held at The Gramercy Theatre (surprise, surprise) and feature both Something To Burn and Karnivool on the bill as well. Since I wanted to absorb the whole event I made sure to arrive just as the STB guys walked on stage.
