20th Century FOX Presents: “Alien: Covenant” Teaser Trailer

Hey there readers. It seems as though we are going to get another trailer online before the year ends and this is the continuing backstory to the “Alien” films. It’s a sequel to “Prometheus” which I didn’t much care for so without any further adieu here is the trailer for “Alien: Covenant”.

The Plot: Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant find what they believe to be an uncharted paradise. What the crew discover is a dark, dangerous world, whose sole inhabitant is the “synthetic” David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition. (thanks Wiki)

Opening Today: “Iron Man 3” (5/3/2013)

And now the second big wave of Marvel Cinematic Universe films begins and comes to us via “Iron Man 3” where Robert Downey Jr. reprises his role as both Tony Stark and Iron Man. I know I’ve broadcast about this already when we got the first official trailer, but you should know that I eat this stuff up. Iron Man will be going head to head with The Mandarin who is being played by Ben Kingsley and we can also count on Don Cheadle reprising his role as Rhodey and donning an altered version of the War Machine armor we saw in “Iron Man 2”. While this looks exciting, I am a tad skeptical about a non-Chinese Mandarin but let’s see how they work this explanation out if they do it at all.

I’ve closed the means to comment on this one so I avoid any spoiler reviews being left here. My hope is to see the film as soon as possible but I don’t think I will add any sort of review to the site until it comes out on DVD. A link to the trailers can be found HERE if you have not yet seen one.

“In space no one can hear you Prequel…..” 🙂 Sorry I cannot resist sometimes but if I understand this whole story properly, “Prometheus” is a prequel of sorts to the scary space happenings that we all experienced in the “Alien” franchise and it opens today. Here is the poster.

The cast is listed below for your examination. It is set in the late 21st century and centers on the crew of the spaceship Prometheus as it follows a star map discovered among the artifacts of several ancient Earth cultures. Seeking the origins of humanity, the crew arrives on a distant world and discovers a threat that could cause the extinction of the human race.”

Does the idea of an “origin story” of sorts about the “Alien” stuff excite you? Will you see this film in the theaters or just do the rental and streaming stuff? I admit that I am on the fence even though I saw the trailer when I went to see “Marvel’s The Avengers”. It looks to be beautifully shot but I might wait to see what some of my diehard film buddies say about it before I drop the cash at the ticket window.
