As expected, the winner’s circle for the Rock, Metal and Alternative categories of the Grammy Awards were doled out during pre-broadcast ceremonies and with nothing being done in person this time around I guess this was all via Zoom, Facebook Live or maybe even WhatsApp. I don’t watch the show myself but do secure the full winner’s rundown for “The Chronicles of Piercing Ken” website and that will post later on tonight since it’s a lot of editing to make work out. You Rockers don’t have to wait that long and can peruse the list before getting to the latest chapter in “The Walking Dead” saga or whatever else you might be watching on a Sunday night. May I have the envelope please….
Hello again my friends, I have returned once again to discuss the always popular topic of the Grammy Awards and the winners of the “Rock” and “Metal” categories that have already been delivered at a pre-broadcast ceremony. As always, I have left the nominees in for comparison sake so do please check it out down below. I guess we Rockers should be thankful that we don’t have to wait around through endless speeches and can instead make some evening plans with our friends.

They say that its the most important night in music and if you’re a fan of Rap, R&B and lots of Pop stuff this is very possibly true. Most of the fans of the Rock and the Metal side of the fence don’t really lend too much attention to it since many of our category awards get presented before the show even airs on television. Though I cannot confirm since I don’t watch the broadcast, I’m fairly certain that the Metal performers don’t even get to play for the audience live anymore. With most of the categories that do hold some interest to our readers, I’m sharing them below for your awareness.
Best Rock Performance:
You Want It Darker – Leonard Cohen – WINNER
The Promise – Chris Cornell
Run – Foo Fighters
No Good – Kaleo
Go To War – Nothing More
And I know that you think I am being obnoxious by making such a statement and alright, perhaps I am being just “a little bit” cheeky in this but let’s face it – the Foo Fighters pretty much won the Rock “Everything” at the Grammy Awards just a little while ago. Don’t get me wrong, because I really think that Dave Grohl is a fantastic musician and a tried and true Metal head at the end of the day, but the bands winning every Rock related category just proves how little the heavier side of music matters to this institution and its fans. To recap, here was the bands awards for the night. All of this was based on their latest album “Wasting Light”.
