I’ve just locked in the news about the legendary Lynyrd Skynyrd (seen HERE) and now its time to unveil the skinny on a brand new festival being held up in Dutchess Country, NY – The Tail Winds Festival. What is certain to be one of the top rock performances of the summer has been announced, with the 2019 edition of the Tail Winds Music Fest. The all-day performance will be held on Saturday, June 29th at The Hudson Valley Regional Airport, in Wappingers Falls, New York (gates open at 11:00am). Headlining the show is Chris Robinson Brotherhood, with additional sets by the likes of Black Stone Cherry, Geoff Tate’s Operation: Mindcrime, King’s X, and Sass Jordan.
Pre-sale general admission tickets are priced at $55, and a VIP experience is also available for $150 (tickets for kids twelve years of age and under will be $25) – very affordable prices indeed for such renowned rock acts. Tickets are available for purchase via tailwindsmusicfest.com.

The Details: You know his voice full well from decades behind the microphone of the mighty Queensryche but now the great Geoff Tate is commanding a whole new band and bringing you classics along with the newness under the moniker of “Geoff Tate’s Operation: Mindcrime”; He’ll be bringing you a rock solid show at the Gramercy Theatre to start our March Metal Madness off properly and thanks to the powers that be at Livenation, PiercingMetal is stoked to put a few lucky fans into the show for free. To Participate: Despite the dramatics that went down with Tate and Queensryche, the time has come for all of us to move forward and appreciate the music. With Geoff being responsible for so many awesome Metal moments over the years I want you to tell me what your three favorite Tate tracks might be. They might be super old or they might be super new. It’s up to you of course and since its personal there is no right or wrong answer to give. Heck we might even be in agreement on some of them. You can expand your thoughts on what Tate means to you as a performer because I want the diehards to be in attendance for this one. Make them solid to read more than just a plain old “because they rock man” because that is just too un-original and boring. If you’ve been a fan for many years I want to hear from you. I’ll be responding to the comments that I like most right below their answer and yes this is a surprise quick contest so how lucky are you guys.
