“Sally’s Song” (Single) by Season Of Ghosts
Artist: Season Of Ghosts
Title: “Sally’s Song” (Single)
Label: Independent Artist
Release Date: 10/31/2016
Genre: Gothic/Ambient Rock
Rating: 4/5
Though Halloween might have passed us by a few weeks ago, I wanted to share this cool freebie that I learned about from the Gothic/Ambient group called Season Of Ghosts. As a treat for their fans they’ve offered up a cover of “Sally’s Song” from the hit Tim Burton film “The Nightmare Before Christmas” and to receive the track all you need to do is sign up for the bands mailing list. In my humble opinion there are worse things a music fan can do than this so give it a shot,. You can also listen on their Soundcloud in case you don’t think you have any additional device or cloud space. So just how is this free track anyway? Let’s get to that part now.

“Cola” (Single) by Dommin
Artist: Dommin
Title: “Cola” (Single)
Label: Independent Artist
Release Date: 11/4/2015
Genre: Gothic Rock
Rating: 3.5/5
A few months ago I mentioned that Dommin had done a cover of Duran Duran’s “Save A Prayer” as a part of their Pledgemusic initiative. If you missed that discussion, just click HERE to get a refresher course and then come back to us so we can continue along. Alright, so the second cover being offered up by the guys is a Lana Del Ray track called “Cola” and I must admit that I have only ever heard this singers name in the recent past more than any of her music. With that being the case I listened to her version first to have some actual background. The tune hails from her “Born To Die” album if you were curious.

“Save A Prayer For Me” (Single) by Dommin
Artist: Dommin
Title: “Save A Prayer” (Single)
Label: Independent Artist
Release Date:
Genre: Melancholy Rock
Rating: 4/5
A few days ago the band Dommin released the first in a group of covers that they were offering up as a part of their Pledgemusic campaign. This first cover is a Domminized rendition of Duran Duran’s “Save A Prayer” and I just wanted to give my quick opinion on it to those who share an appreciation of the band with me. I greatly enjoyed their brand of Melancholy since first hearing the “Love Is Gone” album that was released by Roadrunner Records way back in 2010. Not truly that long ago but with how fast our Social Network driven society moves it might as well be an eternity ago. For those who know the original Duran Duran tune, and hold it to some high regard, I can honestly tell you that Kris, Konstantine, Billy and Cameron keep it right on point with the original groove. It’s a sad song and probably one of the only ballads that I know from Duran Duran but I guess we couldn’t expect for Dommin to do anything with Rio or Hungry Like The Wolf and keep his signature style. I liked it and I think if you were ever a fan of these guys that you will too.

Dig It: Lullwater & Ryan White Deliver “Vendetta Black” For Free!
Back in the Fall I had the chance to meet the guys in Lullwater when they were doing a support slot for Flyleaf and I am happy to add that after witnessing a rocking set of 100% pure grade Rock and Roll that a few beers were consumed as well. Lots of laughs, stories about their past and plans for the future. It’s pretty safe to say that if you want to a support a good group of dudes that Lullwater deserves the attention. That being said I recently got some press copy about them where they share the information about a collaboration with musician Ryan White along with their latest video. I’m sharing that piece of press with you below the logo so do kindly check it out before I return.
The Press Copy:
Athens, GA — Lullwater returned to the studio in early 2015, recording the band’s follow-up to their self-titled album. As an advocate for old school recording technology while still embracing the benefits of Protools, front man John Strickland chose El Paso, TX’ Sonic to deliver an environment of seclusion and pure focus to track REVIVAL. With LULLWATER prior he chose to record at Seattle’s legendary London Bridge Studios in December, 2011 with an interest of entering the historic rooms that made a significant impact to defining the Seattle sound.
