The Press Release:
DC Collectibles has revealed the latest statue in the popular Batman Black & White series – Armored Batman by Frank Miller. #101 in the series is based on the iconic designs from Frank Miller’s 1986 series, The Dark Knight Returns. This armored Batman perfectly encapsulates the worn-out, dystopian vibe from the comics while showing the technological power Batman possesses in the story. While the figure is not due to hit shelves till summer 2020 it will for sure be one you won’t want to miss!
This March, comic book history will be made as “Detective Comics” reaches its milestone 1000th issue. As you all know, this is the title that gave us “The Batman” way back in May of 1939 and before I get into the cover visuals, I wanted to share that classic issue with you all. Remember, Batman didn’t appear in the first issue of that comic but instead in its 27th.
About The Issue: After 80 years, it’s here—the 1,000th issue of DETECTIVE COMICS, the title that literally defines DC! This 96-page issue is stacked with an unbelievable lineup of talent that will take you on a journey through Batman’s past, present and future…plus a sensational epilogue that features the first-ever DC Universe appearance of the deadly Arkham Knight! But who is under the mask? And why do they want Batman dead? The incredible future of Batman adventures begins here!
It was way back at the close of February that I shared the news about the upcoming “Captain America” series coming from Marvel Comics. If you missed the briefing just click HERE to be up to date on the news.

Fans of Frank Miller’s “Sin City” series will be happy to learn that the second chapter in these gritty crime dramas has made its way to the big screen as “Sin City: A Dame To Kill For” opens up today in theaters everywhere. Check out the poster and some information about the film.
As a pretty close to lifelong comic book fan and since I know pretty much where my readers heads are at about the medium, I hope that I can say that you are as excited as I am about the new DC Comics Animated Feature for “Batman: The Dark Knight Returns”. To say that this was a classic tale in the Batman canon would be an understatement.
The film is being released on video today and since it went straight to the medium as opposed to being an opening in the theaters fans don’t have to wait too long to own a copy. They can just show up at wherever they get their goods and say “Gimme one”. “Batman The Dark Knight Returns” was written and drawn by Frank Miller and Klaus Janson and takes place in a dystopian future where Batman has returned to fighting crime at 55 years of age. The world is a different place for sure and even the Caped Crusader was going to have his hands full. It will be interesting to see how they work this out as an animated show but I am glad that we are getting it. The only part that leaves me curious is what made them choose to do this in two separate releases. Yes there will be a part two for the conclusion. Here is a peek at the voice cast.
