Though the Comic-Con International: San Diego had announced the decision to do their event virtually for the second year in a row based on the still problematic pandemic (discussed HERE), some of the aspects of the convention will still be held and that means the Eisner Awards will be doled out. Some of you know this already but for those who don’t the Eisner Awards are prizes given for creative achievement in American comic books and are coyly thought of as being the industry’s version of the Academy Awards. They are named after the legendary Wil Eisner (The Spirit) and are something that attendees of the SDCC look forward to each and every year. Now without any more lead in here are the 2021 Eisner Awards Nominations.

Hello my friends, so while we are living in a very precarious time for sure based on the continuing issues surrounding the Coronavirus Pandemic, many items that we had on the media table will be happening but just in a different format. For instance, it was a couple of months ago that we helped share the news that the 2020 Comic Con International: San Diego would be cancelled until 2021 and then it was rumored that a number of the happenings for that con would take place in a virtual sense. The report about the cancellation can be found HERE and as I learn more about the home event I will post but now onto a different topic. The Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards are curated by the SDCC folks and they recently announced the nominees for this years honor. Let’s take a look down below.
