Danny Worsnop Signs to Earache Records; New Album Coming Soon

Fans of singer Danny Worsnop will be excited to learn about his latest adventures which I have shared with you below care of a recent press release. Check it all out below.

The Press Release:
Danny Worsnop, the newly-returned frontman for UK metalcore pioneers ASKING ALEXANDRIA, has signed a worldwide record deal with UK-based independent label Earache Records for his upcoming debut solo album.

Titled ‘The Long Road Home’, Danny’s first solo release sees a slight musical departure from his previous work with ASKING ALEXANDRIA, now forging a deeper and often darker path through the British-born, Nashville-based musician’s mind and displaying a truly stunning singing voice only hinted at in his previous work.

Long-time fans will see a much more personal and reflective side of Danny’s, with brutally honest lyrical themes ranging from loss and heartache to Danny’s past (and often public) struggles with drugs and alcohol. Backed by authentic, blues-soaked outlaw country, the album is also interspersed with a few more upbeat tracks, showing that Danny’s ability to craft catchy melodies which will have listeners singing along in no time is still very much alive and well.

Earache Records Signs Biters To Worldwide Deal

Here’s a quick press release that shares the great news about the signing of the Biters to our friends over at Earache Records. Take a look.

The Press Release:
Atlanta rock ‘n’ roll tearaways Biters have announced a worldwide recording deal with Earache Records.
Recalling the early spirit and danger of rabble-rousing rock heroes, Biters have faithfully built upon their punk heritage and their love of 70’s rock to deliver music that ignites, incites and excites in equal measure.

Possessing a heart full of rock ‘n’ roll, the band play foot stomping, fist pumping, spit-on-the-floor anthems possessed of a fighting spirit that refuses to give in. Band leader Tuk explains the band’s outlook: “Corporate pop culture and fairweather fads is just something I’m not interested in. I still choose to play rock ‘n’ roll, because I still believe in rock ‘n’ roll.”

The Details: Morbid Angel is one of the defining forces of Death Metal music and while initially delivering more of a Thrash Metal sound, by the time their debut album “Altars Of Madness” was delivered in 1989, it was all about crushing their fans with a more sinister frame of mind. Their third album was called “Covenant” and it celebrated its 20th year this past June and in honor of this milestone the guys are doing a tour and playing this release in its entirety. They’ll be enhancing the appeal by offering up some other morbid classics for sure and our regional show will find support from four talented local groups. Thanks to the fine folks at Livenation, PiercingMetal is also raising a glass in the bands honor by hosting this contest that will put some of our lucky fans into the room. Read more below.

Happy Heavy 25th Anniversary To Earache Records (1987-2012)

This is a great year of anniversaries for some truly awesome Rock and Metal bands as we find the big 25th for artists like Whitesnake, Anthrax, Testament and really far too many others to mention celebrating that milestone on a bit of some seminal recorded work. Stuff like Whitesnake’s self titled, and “Fighting The World” by Manowar and “Among The Living” by Anthrax. You get the point right? Well, in this narrative I wanted to raise a glass and a high pair of horns for the Earache Records label who are also celebrating their own 25th Year in the business.

If you love all things Extreme Metal then Earache Records is the place to be for your listening pleasure because they were the label to find bands like Napalm Death, Deicide, Decapitated and the mighty Carcass for many of their releases. Now I should admit that I wasn’t really following any of these bands before I decided to focus my creative time on being a music journalist but once I started I began studying from their books even though I am a huge latecomer to their offerings. I aim at supporting what I can when I can and there are honestly a lot of bands that I like on the label. It’s a true lesson in that which is heavy and not easily handled by those who refuse to step outside of their own Metal box. I know that I still have quite the investigative journey ahead based on their artist roster both past and present. You can learn what that roster is and a whole lot more about the company by clicking the Official Wiki entry below. I tend to just offer up my own thoughts in these Milestones as opposed to reprinting other peoples words. I am looking forward to hearing and witnessing in concert the next groups that the label will be dishing out and you should to. Happy 25th Earache Records, and here is to the next 25 🙂 Fans that enjoy the labels output already are encouraged to leave us some comments in the space below. It will be great to hear what you think about this one. To see our reviews of some releases that came to us under the Earache Records brand click HERE. The screen will showcase the whole batch. See you next time.

Scion A/V and Wormrot deliver “Noise”

Even though I lean towards a more traditional style of Metal when it comes to how I feel about Grindcore stuff, there is no question about its overall intensity and the impact that it has had on that scenes fan base. Simply put, those who love it love it with the same force that it delivers to their senses. The band Wormrot hails from Singapore and they have been together since 2007. They were apparently discovered two years later by the founder of Earache Records (Digby Pearson) and signed immediately to his label. This was a perfect match for the band since so many Grindcore greats have been featured on this label such as the mighty Carcass and Napalm Death over the years. Recently the folks over at Scion A/V have provided fans the chance to download a free EP of Wormrot and this is a great way to give the band a sampling whether you are thrilled with the Grindcore sound or not. Who knows, perhaps you will find it making absolute sense to your musical palette. If you don’t enjoy it you can always delete the tunes or copy them to your friends computer or smart phone. Scion A/V has done this before with the mighty Immolation and also Enslaved. Just click their names to find links to those free EP’s. It’s time well spent.

Once again we have to thank the folks over at Scion A/V for giving it to the people and for free. There are other downloads to enjoy and as we have stressed in the brief postings about the others, share at will. Let’s get these bands the support that they are playing their asses out for. Until next time.
