At the onset of December we shared the news about High On Fire and their “Electric Messiah Tour” (seen HERE) and it was going to be a great way to start the 2019 Year in Music. Sadly, there have been some medical concerns with singer Matt Pike and this tour is cancelled in full. Please take a look at the Official Statement and Affected Dates. Refunds should be available at point of purchase.
As the year heads towards a close we are starting to get the alerts about the 2019 touring schedules and here is the latest update from the band High On Fire. Let’s check it out.
The Press Release:
High On Fire have announced the Electric Messiah tour 2019 in continued support of their new LP released earlier this year. These dates will be the first time the band has played live since the cancelation of their tour with Municipal Waste earlier this year due to the partial amputation of Matt Pike’s toe.
High On Fire released Electric Messiah last month to some serious critical acclaim. The A.V. Club stated that “The bar for metal album of the year has been raised” and they couldn’t be more correct. Electric Messiah has landed on both Revolver Magazine and Loudwire’s top albums of 2018 lists.
The Press Release:
The Contortionist have announced The Reimagined Tour today, which will feature two dynamic sets, one with a full production, and a second, intimate second set. The whole show will feature over two hours of new, old, and reimagined music spanning the band’s entire catalog. INTERVALS will be supporting.
“The Rediscovered concept was born from a desire to escape and redefine the rules of a show,” says keyboardist Eric Guenther. “We want to include our fans in an experience reflective of The Contortionist’s wide range of dynamics, not only on the scale of heaviness or intensity but in tone and texture.”
“Our goal is to invite the listener closer and show ourselves in a fresh new way for our fans who have evolved with us and embraced our sonic exploration over the years. This is an opportunity to ‘pull out all the stops’ and integrate the crowd into the changing aura of the room as we dig deep, reimagine, and give ever-echoing life to our music.” Continue reading The Contortionist Announce The “Reimagined” Tour→

Artist: Black Label Society Title: “Trampled Down Below” (Single) Label: E1 Entertainment Release Date: 1/8/2018 Genre: Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Rating: 4/5
We’re only about ten days out from the next full length Black Label Society album “Grimmest Hits” and with the timing so close, I was actually surprised to find another single being released with “Trampled Down Below”. Since I’ve already discussed “All That Once Shined” HERE, I figure let’s keep the overview train running. “Trampled” is longer than the other track and begins with a solemn riff and tasty bass and when the twin guitars begin blazing over the pounding drums you find yourself wrapped up into a solid headbanging track.
