Check out the poster, full press release and dates down below. I’ll add some editorial closing at the end. Here we go.

The Press Release:
Few rock guitarists have proven to be as influential and enduring as the great Michael Schenker. And March will be a busy month for Schenker, as he will be issuing his latest album on the 2nd, ‘Resurrection,’ as well as launching a North American tour in support of it – kicking off on the 6th at the Fillmore in Silver Springs, MD, and wrapping up on April 3rd at the Ritz in Tampa, FL.

And what makes this tour truly unique is that it is being billed as “Michael Schenker Fest,” and will be featuring three classic Michael Schenker Group vocalists (Gary Barden, Graham Bonnet, and Robin McAuley), plus the singer of Michael Schenker’s Temple of Rock (Doogie White). And in addition to Schenker supplying guitar, he will be joined by second guitarist/keyboardist Steve Mann, bassist Chris Glen, and drummer Ted McKenna. Yngwie J. Malmsteen @ B.B. King Blues Club (12/1/2005)

Artist: Yngwie Malmsteen
Venue: B.B. King Blues Club – NYC
Opener: Orange Sky
Date: 12/1/2005
Label: Spitfire Records

Yngwie Malmsteen is a legend in the halls of Rock guitar and as I have enjoyed his music for many years this was set to be a very cool memory to my concert coverage. As this was his first solo tour in some years there was something special about seeing his name up on the B.B. King marquee. When I shot my photo of this site I realized that while a fan of his playing that it would be the first time that I would see Yngwie perform in over 15 years. Outside of appearances on the G3 Tours, he did not perform solo shows very often. In 2005; Yngwie found a return to his classic style with his CD release “Unleash The Fury” and he would also make available his “Concierto For Electric Guitar” DVD. Both of these killer products came to the public care of Eagle Rock Entertainment and Spitfire Records. These added to the general Yngwie buzz and when announcements for the solo touring became news the shows sold out in minutes. If you were not on top of things you would sadly be one of those who missed out on a great evening of music.

“Unleash The Fury” by Yngwie Malmsteen

Artist: Yngwie Malmsteen
Title: “Unleash The Fury”
Label: Spitfire Records
Release Date: 7/26/2005
Genre: Heavy Metal
Rating: 8/10

Yngwie Malmsteen is clearly a legend in the guitar world and with very good reason. His level of play has never faltered and with Rising Force he has released perhaps his finest work to date as far as Heavy Metal goes. “Unleash The Fury” comes to us care of Spitfire Records home to other Metal luminaries such as Twisted Sister and Overkill and this release is truly loaded from top to bottom. A guitar players fantasy comes true on this release for it contains a full 18 tracks. Truly taking advantage of the time allowed on a CD medium. No such thing as a 30 minute CD release from Yngwie (a welcome change I admit from the norm).Solid Metal content that brings me back to the early days of his playing and a foursome of instrumentals that will please fans of his classical metal styling and musical education. All across the scope of the CD, Yngwie’s playing reminds you of why he has achieved the acclaim he has received for so many years. His fluid solos make it sound so easy, but in truth the execution of this is borderline genius. He has gotten better as time has marched on, and this will be some 21 years of Malmsteen as a solo artist (older fans might recall he was in Alcatrazz and Steeler at one time in his youth). The production on the CD is stellar also, and believe it or not you will find all instruments of equal mix. Malmsteen does not overshadow the members of his band instead choosing to let them compliment his work and that’s how it should be.
