Hello again my friends, you have landed on my continuation of the coverage from the 2023 New York Comic Con that had taken over the Javits Center a few short weeks ago. My more tenured readership know full well just how much I get done at this event. From the Day To Day focuses to social media photo takeovers and plenty of Interviews for the YouTube Channel. I’m hardly interested in doing cosplay and having others tell me it looks cool or things that I might purchase. Of course I do buy some things along the way but its not the reason I’m sporting a Press badge. What I’ve also been doing of late is some Special Feature photo narratives and by doing it this way I can have the companies shine brighter on their own. Now in case you’ve only just found the website, I want to suggest that you click HERE first as that will open up a brand-new browser tab with all of the posts that preceded this one. Now its time to continue with the features and present to you the Alex Ross Gallery and Disney Books. Let’s go.

It’s without question that Alex Ross is one of the greatest and most inspired of the artists we’ve gotten to enjoy the works of over the years and during the New York Comic Con, he had a small gallery presentation where a wide number of his paintings and sketches could be purchased by those with the necessary cake to do such things. Love all this stuff as much as I do, I will be sticking with the work we find on his actual comic book covers but maybe one day right.

Disney Presents: “Disney+” Official Trailer

The D23 Expo is currently underway and its an event that I wish I was participating in based on all of the reveals from the studio since we always try to stay on top of trailers and new insight about the films and series that we focus on here at PiercingMetal.com – Should anything like that come to light I will make sure to post it here as we continue to push our Pop Culture content higher and higher. One thing that did get shared yesterday was the first Official Trailer for the service and while it’s not really the kind of thing I would normally post, the buzz around this has been too big to avoid so sit back and enjoy the few minutes. I will come back afterwards.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: At the point of this writing I am a subscriber to both Netflix and Hulu. I currently carry an HBO, Showtime and some other channel I never watch in my cable plan and with that being said I have one simple disclosure. It’s without question that I will be signing up for this service because it will have so many of the things that I am already supporting on other networks and in the cinema on a regular basis. I’m both a Star Wars and Marvel Super-heroes geek and who doesn’t love the classic Disney films and series from time to time. Now as far as my streaming devices are concerned, I am still using a PS3 and I don’t think that they will be adding the app to that old a system so I will be using the laptop, mobile phone and Fire tablet if that device happens to get the app as well. Some of my tech is older and works too well to replace just to have app access. What about you readers? Are you going to get this service when it goes online or are you going to wait or the initial reviews about it? Chime in down below in the comments section. I will see you next time.

Breaking: City Winery’s New York Flagship To Relocate By 2020

The Press Release:
City Winery’s 30,000-square-foot location on Varick Street has been purchased by Disney, forcing the business to relocate. City Winery New York was the first of 6 national locations and been in the Hudson Square neighborhood for a decade. Disney acquired the entire block from the Trinity Church Real Estate-owned site to build a one million-square foot New York headquarters.

“We have had a very strong relationship with Trinity over the years and knew that the demolition of our building was ultimately unavoidable. We hope to work with them to find a suitable location given their substantial property holdings. Trinity, and now Disney, has continued to express that City Winery is a significant cultural asset to the neighborhood and would like us to stay in the area,” stated Michael Dorf, CEO and Founder of City
Winery.

City Winery intends to find, secure and begin construction on their new New York City location before the end of 2018. The official opening is planned
for January 1, 2020 — which is when they must vacate Varick Street. “It is inevitable in a city like New York that 2-story buildings will eventually
yield to taller ones. It is unfortunate to see historically significant 120-year old brick-and-beam gems get swapped for 50-story generic glass towers. The character of the neighborhood changed when Trump’s tower went up. It is my hope that the design of this new Disney building – and the millions of
square feet Google is adding to their office – will be a positive addition to the dynamism of our vibrant community,” Dorf added.
