Despised Icon will return to NYC’s headlining stage and bring along Suffocation, Ingested and Kublai Khan.
Though we usually count on Mondays to be the big tour announcing days, there are some bands that like to send us into the weekend happy with the thoughts of what is to come down the pike. Such is the case with the band Despised Icon who have returned to active Metal duty and are planning a North American tour. Check out the full press release and dates down below.

The Press Release:
CARNIFEX and DESPISED ICON announce North American co-headlining tour
Symphonic deathcore merchants CARNIFEX will start a two month long crusade across North America starting next February. Shortly there after two colossal innovators of the genre collide, when deathcore godfathers DESPISED ICON join as co-headliners starting March 17th. Finishing out the tour package are ethereal progressive metallers FALLUHJAH, alien themed tech-death masters RINGS OF SATURN, as well as LORNA SHORE and SHE MUST BURN.
“Since the release of Slow Death fans have been asking for a headline tour,” comments CARNIFEX frontman Scott Lewis. “Slow Death has been a monster album for us, charting higher and selling faster than all our previous albums. This tour matches the size and scope of that album. Together with a our brothers in DESPISED ICON we’re bringing North America the sickest tour possible. Prepare yourself for a live show like no other.”
DESPISED ICON vocalist and founding member, Alex Erian, adds:
“We’ve known the CARNIFEX homies for a decade already and are excited to share the stage with them once again. These will be our only dates in North America next year. Don’t miss out! 2017 also marks The Ills Of Modern Man’s 10 year anniversary. Expect to hear the classics and a few new bangin’ tracks from Beast. See ya then!”

Artist: Despised Icon
Venue: Blender Theater (New York, NY)
Opener: Beneath The Massacre, Neuraxis, Plasmarifle, Carnifex & An Autopsy
Label: Century Media Records
As far as February was concerned this was clearly a monster Metal fest even though it was bearing no official festival title but had a tour labeled as “The Montreal Assault Tour”. Headlined by Despised Icon, the show that found mostly Canadian talent also delivered the likes of Beneath The Massacre, Carnifex, Neuraxis, and Plasmarifle on the bill. Talk about an exciting Wednesday for the residents of the Big Apple Metal Community. The really affordable show would also give us a local opener called An Autopsy, but I would miss their set and arrive with my associates just before the guys in The Plasmarifle were set to perform. The night outside was rather chilly given the time of year, but inside would be hot based on the amount of music being dished out. The Metal year 2009 had started off strong in terms of shows it would seem as only days ago we had a thundering appearance by Meshuggah and ten days prior to this evening was a massive bill that offered up Soilwork, Darkane and many more. Having been present at those shows it was amusing to me to find myself hitting the third venue in less than two weeks as visits to the Highline Ballroom and Fillmore NY would soon lead me to the Blender Theater for this evenings happenings. Here is how the event went down for those who didn’t make the show.
