The Decibel Magazine Tour Is Cancelled Amid Coronavirus Concerns
Not long after the news about Live Nation and AEG Worldwide suspending all events until April in response the the New York State ban on assembly of 500 or more people (seen HERE) comes the news about the cancellation of the 2020 Decibel Magazine Tour. Read on for one of the bands statements.
Statement From The True Mayhem:
In an effort to control the spread of the covid-19 pandemic, numerous states and cities on the Decibel Magazine Tour routing have announced bans on gatherings in excess of 250 or 500 people (with many more expected to do the same in the coming days). As a result, we have unfortunately been forced to cancel the Decibel Magazine Tour. For ticket refunds, please inquire at point of purchase. Thank you for your understanding and support of Mayhem, Abbath, Gatecreeper, Idle Hands and Decibel.

Abbath Announced As Part Of Decibel Magazine Tour In 2020
When tours like this get announced I cannot for the life of me fathom why the Boontown Rats did not like Mondays (or Garfield for that matter) but I digress. The first news about this 2020 run of dates came care of the masters in media hype over at Season Of Mist Records so check it out down below along with some additional Abbath news. Let’s go.

Norwegian black ‘n’ roll titans ABBATH will be returning to North America in 2020 as part of the Decibel Magazine tour along with MAYHEM. The dates will also include an appearance at Decibel Magazine Metal and Beer Festival in Philadelphia, PA on April 3. The tour will kick off on March 13 in Denver, CO and will conclude on April 10 in Chicago, IL. The full itinerary can be found below.

Enslaved To Headline Seventh Annual Decibel Magazine Tour
Hot on the heels of their release of the brand new album “M”, the mighty Enslaved has revealed that they will be the headliner of the 2018 “Decibel Magazine Tour”. Check out the press release down below and know for sure that I will return at the close. Indulge.

Since its launch in 2012, the annual Decibel Magazine Tour’s ambitious curation has unified artists from around the extreme universe who would otherwise never have the opportunity to tour North America together. The lineup for the 2018 Decibel Magazine Tour continues that proud tradition, as Norwegian progressive metal legends Enslaved join forces with Pacific Northwest black metal heroes Wolves in the Throne Room, Danish post-black siren Myrkur and doomed rock ‘n’ crushers Khemmis (with regional openers in select markets to be announced next year).
“I have always wanted Enslaved to be part of the Decibel Tour concept,” says Enslaved guitarist and co-founder Ivar Bjørnson. “Not only is Decibel an institution, and defender of the last line of resistance for the printed metal mag in North America (for a band started in 1991, printed magazines are no small matter), but the Decibel Tour has also become an institution and an icon for metal that we admire here on the other side of the pond. So, to be asked to headline, and to perform with these other very fine artists, is a great honor and a great pleasure. Be there or be trapezoid!”
Of 2018’s four featured acts, three have released new LPs in late 2017 to coincide with the Decibel Tour: Enslaved, with their fourteenth full-length album, E; Wolves in the Throne Room, with sixth record Thrice Woven; and Myrkur, with sophomore release Mareridt. The former have already been honored with a pair of authoritative Hall of Fame features (on 1994’s landmark Frost and 2003 groundbreaker Below the Lights). Wolves in the Throne and Myrkur each graced Decibel’s cover in 2017, while in 2016, Khemmis took home Decibel’s Album of the Year honor for their Hunted release. Additionally, Enslaved, Myrkur and Khemmis have each recorded and released exclusive tracks via the Decibel Flexi Series, and the 2018 headliners will return with their second flexi contribution, which will appear in the annual Decibel Tour issue of the magazine that hits stands February 2018.

The Decibel Tour Brings Abbath To The Metal Masses In 2016
The cinders have finally subsided from the fires of Hell that once housed the mighty Immortal and now Abbath rises on his own headlining tour of the North American territories as a part of the 2016 Decibel Tour. This exciting event will bring along High On Fire, Skeletonwitch and Tribulation. Check out the poster and tour dates below and then I’ll add some closing thoughts. The tour is just under a month in length and begins in Baltimore and ends in Philadelphia.
