The North American gala premiere of ‘Dawn of the Dead’ took place on April 12, 1979 at the Gateway Theatre in downtown Pittsburgh. The film began the official U.S. theatrical launch the following day, eventually rolling out across the country. To honor this special milestone, New Amsterdam Entertainment Inc.® is making the movie available again in theatres & drive-ins for coast-to-coast screenings starting April 12, 2024 and running through to the end of May!

Claudio Simonetti’s Goblin Brings “Dawn Of The Dead” To Life In 2014

It’s almost amusing to me that not two full days after the season finale of “The Walking Dead” how the news that Claudio Simonetti’s Goblin will be touring a performance of his music which was written for “Dawn Of The Dead” film. Hopefully you all know that this film is the sequel to the legendary “Night Of The Living Dead” feature. Read more about it after the poster.

Before I get into more stuff about the event, here is some information about the band as lovingly cribbed from their Official Wikipedia entry “Goblin (also Back to the Goblin, New Goblin/Goblin Rebirth, the Goblin Keys and Simonetti’s Goblin) is an Italian progressive rock band known for their soundtrack work. They frequently collaborate with Dario Argento, most notably creating soundtracks for Profondo Rosso in 1975 and Suspiria in 1977. CD re-releases of their soundtracks have performed well, especially in Germany and Japan. Goblin returned with a series of live concerts in Europe in 2009 and in North America in 2013.”
