When we first discussed the topic of the continuation of the “Ghostbusters” franchise with “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” it was way back in December of 2019 (as seen HERE). At the time we were getting ready to welcome what was sure to be a bountiful year of to do in 2020. Then 2020 began and while it started out alright by March was an international disaster based on the global pandemic. Now as the world slowly rises to more sense of normal, a second Official Trailer has been revealed and we we prepare to enjoy it I ask you all once more “Who you gonna call?”

The Premise: A single mother and her two children move to Oklahoma after inheriting property from a previously unknown relative. They discover their family’s legacy to the original Ghostbusters, who have become something of a myth as many have long-since forgotten the events of the “Manhattan Crossrip of 1984”.

When the sequel to “Zombieland” premiered a few months ago with “Zombieland: Double Tap”, we made sure to cover it as a part of our Pop Culture Film and Television narratives because we really enjoyed that first film. The crop of trailers, special features and promotional posters that were posted can be examined by clicking HERE. I’m returning to the topic of this film as Sony Pictures has just released this on Digital platforms (with Blu-ray and DVD to follow) and in addition to this the first “10” minutes of the film are online for you to enjoy. Check out said footage down below and then stick around the post to examine the premise, casting and official theatrical art. I’ve even embedded codes for you to order this on Amazon.com if you are so inclined.

The Premise: After the events of the first film, Columbus, Tallahassee, Wichita and Little Rock move to the American heartland as they face off against evolved zombies, fellow survivors and the growing pains of the snarky makeshift family.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: I truly loved the first “Ghostbusters” film, enjoyed the second installment for the most part and like so very many of you, never even bothered with the redo of the franchise from a couple of years ago. That being said I was curious as to how this new movie might be and when it proved to be a many years later continuation of what we all enjoyed I was game. The idea of the family members of the famous team who long since retired brings some appeal to the front and with the young cast can “Stranger Things” be a good comparison. I liked what I saw here and look forward to more reveals. Though the summer of 2020 is far away, I will likely be sitting in the local theater for this one. What did you think? Chime in down below in the comments.

Today is the day that the Sony Pictures Releasing film “Zombieland: Double Tap” opens in theaters everywhere. Ardent readers know that I’ve discussed the film a few times here on the website and two posts that might be good ammunition going into the film fall to the Promotional Character Posters and the Red Band Trailer. Those posts will help build a good framework for the folks interested in seeing this early in the theatrical run. Let’s get one more look at the premise and casting and the neato Theatrical Poster before my editorial notes at the end.

Sony Pictures: “Zombieland: Double Tap” Red Band Trailer

Way back in July I shared the first Official Trailer for “Zombieland: Double Tap” and since this is a trailer post I will not link back to that one. I will share the Promotional Posters showcasing that we did HERE for the curious and now its onto the oft-dreaded “Red Band Trailer”. As you might have surmised, this is the type of trailer that is a little more intense than the ones you will see on the television between shows like “Batwoman” and “Supergirl” so let’s take a look shall we. Hold onto your closest love one or beloved pet and leave the lights on and door and windows locked.
