Knotfest, the music and counterculture experience created by the multi-platinum sonic phenomenon and nine-piece force of nature, Slipknot, has today confirmed the return of Knotfest Iowa for 2021. The event will be the biggest heavy music festival to ever hit the mid-western state and will be held at National Balloon Classic Field in Indianola, IA, on Saturday, September 25th, with Slipknot headlining. The full line-up features Faith No More, Megadeth, Lamb Of God, $uicide Boy$, Gojira, Trivium, Tech N9ne, FEVER 333, Knocked Loose, Turnstile, Gatecreeper And Vended.

Slipknot have announced the first ever Knotfest Brazil which will take place at Sambódromo do Anhembi in São Paulo, on December 19th 2021. More than just a festival, Knotfest is an event that celebrates all cultural aspects of heavy music. Knotfest is a gathering of the biggest and heaviest bands in the world, a phenomenon created by the multi-platinum Slipknot. Launched in 2012, the festival established itself in the United States and has consistently expanded its offerings across the globe, with events in Japan, Mexico, Colombia and France. Tickets will be available from 10am Brasilia Standard Time on Thursday, November 26th at Eventim.com.br
Knotfest Brazil is the realization of a partnership between 30 Entertainment and 5B Artists+Media. In addition to Slipknot headlining the inaugural Knotfest Brazil, the line-up will also feature nine other bands and 12 hours of music. The event will feature two stages, the KNOTFEST Museum, Food Park, and Merchandise Store, in addition to an amusement area for fans to enjoy on the day. VIP experience packages* will also be available for sale, with access to premium areas and exclusive merchandise. Slipknot will continue to tour around We are Not Your Kind, their sixth studio album that debuted at # 1 on the Billboard 200 – the band’s third consecutive album to top Billboard’s most important music chart. The album also made a global impact with # 1 debuts not only in the United States, but also the United Kingdom, Mexico, Australia, Canada, Japan, Ireland, Belgium, Portugal and Finland, as well as Top 5 in Germany, France, Norway, Italy, Austria , Sweden, Switzerland, Holland, Poland, Spain and New Zealand.
Speaking to Rolling Stone Magazine, Slipknot’s creative visionary Shawn “Clown” Crahan defined Knotfest as “a dark carnival experience. It’s not just the shows, but the environment created around it. I’m talking about smells, sights, hearing, your body, everything will be overloaded with stimulation.”

Just ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday, Z2 gives music fans something to celebrate with news of one of the publisher’s most ambitious projects yet. The Among the Living graphic novel pulls together a who’s who of names from around comics and music for a track by track storyline inspired by one of heavy metal’s most iconic albums. Today’s announcement brings news that Anthrax has teamed with the leading publisher of music tie-in graphic novels to assemble an all-star cast of famous fans to bring the band’s breakthrough album to the printed page for the first time.
“Doing a comic book has always been a huge goal for me” said Anthrax’s Charlie Benante. “I’ve tried for years, but something always comes up and sidetracks me. I was ecstatic when Josh Bernstein brought the idea to us to do a graphic novel based on our album Among the Living. I felt that it was the perfect time and opportunity to fulfill that dream. I am a lifelong artist and have been drawing during the pandemic more than ever, so I had the idea to bring my own artwork to this project. As a fan of the Judge Dredd series since the 80’s, it was an honor to create cover art based off of Dredd and Judge Death. We previously shared that Knotfest at Sea would be postponed from August 2020 to August 2021. Due to unforeseen scheduling factors since then, we have made the difficult decision to postpone Knotfest at Sea for the foreseeable future. We greatly appreciate the patience and understanding of the Knotfest at Sea community, this decision was not made easily. All currently booked guests will receive a full refund. PiercingMetal Thoughts: While I’m sad to keep sharing the bad news here at the Metal Media Command HQ about pretty much everything, you cannot disagree that 2020 has been a bear for this kind of stuff for sure. Now based on the logistics of this particular cruise we were not planning on attending but it sure sounded interesting because we do love a good time here at PiercingMetal.com – I’ve not been on any of the music cruises yet despite my interest in several of them. Sure I’ve been on boats plenty of times over the years but I hardly think that the Staten Island Ferry and the Circle Line count as much when it comes to entertainment.
