Hello there my friends, I am taking a pause out of the regularly scheduled programming to share some super cool news with you all. Back around the beginning of May, I submitted my interest in attending the massive New York Comic Con as I had been doing for the past “12” conventions. Generally speaking, an application has about a “21” day waiting period but its business days and not the weekends I’m told and just a short time ago this morning I received the following email from their team.

“You have been approved for a press ticket for New York Comic Con 2023. No further action is required. You will receive a barcode confirmation shortly. We look forward to seeing you at NYCC 2023! If you have any questions, please contact NYCC Press”

Greetings my convention adventuring readers. I’m here to share some pretty cool news with you to keep you apprised of our movements as we all continue to navigate this hopefully post-pandemic atmosphere. It was some time ago that we submitted our interest in once again being a part of the Press Corps for the sake of Geek Coverage here on the website for the always interesting Anime NYC Convention. Just a short time ago we learned that we will indeed be in attendance. Their information on the matter is below the spiffy graphic.

Convention Update: PiercingMetal Is Approved For New York Comic Con 2021

Greetings my fellow Geeks, I’m pausing the usual course of business to share something very cool and actually now very close in happening. After pausing in 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the fine folks at ReedPOP have set up their famous New York Comic Con for 2021 and I’ve just learned that I will once again be attending as a member of the media. I’m sharing the crux of the email and then will share a fun themed graphic. Read on.

This email verifies that you are APPROVED to receive a press badge for New York Comic Con 2021. Please go to the press registration desk in the Crystal Palace (main lobby of Javits at south end of the building) during Will Call hours and present this email, along with a photo ID, and you will be provided a press credential. All NYCC attendees ages 12+ must be fully vaccinated to enter the Javits Center. Please visit the New York Comic Con website for more information on how to verify your vaccination status before arriving to NYCC.

As I share this update with you, the 2021 edition of the New York Comic Con is pretty much right around the corner and will amount to being my 11th straight year of attending in a professional capacity. Now I should also point out that this year there are several considerations to be aware of. All attendees must show proof of being fully vaccinated so you’re going to want to get your records of that in order. I use the digital app from the state but it looks like NYCC is also requiring that you install the app called Clear. I’m not too familiar with this one and don’t have a lot of time to learn so I will be doing that right after I press “publish”. It might not hurt to bring along your vaccination card along as well but I’d keep it in some kind of protective holder and by all means don’t lose it. Attendees will need masks and if you plan on talking a lot I encourage you to change it across the day and dispose in a proper receptacle. Now as far as my coverage plans go I cannot determine what I will get done because this is a late plan for me and I honestly do not know what kind of environment that I will be walking into. While I will be wearing a mask throughout, I am slightly hesitant to be walking through a space with that many people because it just had not been done for these many months. I’ll do my best to secure a lot of photos and maybe even some videos if the means allow. Either way I am excited that the convention has managed to make a return and that I will be on point for it one more time. If you are considering yourself brave and wish to endeavor this upcoming event but never experienced a NYCC before, you can peruse all of my coverage from the 2019 convention by clicking HERE. It’s from the “before times” and what a different world it was. That’s a wrap for me now but before I go I wonder who out there in the readership is joining me and what their thoughts on it all might be. You can chime in down below in the comments section and believe me its always wonderful to hear from you. Before I finally say goodnight on this post I want to reiterate that you should be keeping safe and minding yourself. While there is a vaccine, you can still get sick. I would love my readership to come out of this okay and honestly I am looking forward to seeing so many of you once again. Cheers.

PS: I hope you enjoyed the slightly quirky “Approved” graphic I fashioned for this post. With the launch of Ken Pierce Media last year I’ve been wanting to do more things like this across the creative dotcoms. It’s not meant to be braggadocious as I have seen many other do and instead to inform and let you know what we are going to be exploring for your entertainment.
