In This Moment Announce “Half God Half Devil” Tour

Since everyone in my city is out at the market stocking up on milk and bread for the looming blizzard that will probably only inconvenience our metropolis for a single day, I decided to share the news about this new tour that features a headlining In This Moment and some super cool guest support acts. Check out the brief statement below along with the poster and tour dates.

The Statement:
Blood Legion! We’ll be hitting the road with Motionless In White, Avatar, and Gemini Syndrome as support this April and May. Pre-sales start tomorrow and general on-sale this Friday. More info here: http://www.inthismomentofficial.com/tour

Avatars Johannes Eckerström adds “We’ve got many friends in the United States nowadays and we feel like making some new ones. We are grateful for this opportunity to hit the road. I believe this will not only be a chance to meet all our faithful Avatar Country-citizens once again, but I think there will be a busy day on our embassy following this. It’s funny that the one I look forward to the most to perform in front of this time is YOU, who won’t be reading this as you don’t know who we are yet. Boy, oh boy are you in for a treat… It’s on.”

The Details: I’m happy to report that I am one of those folks who was fortunate enough to be able to see In This Moment at one of their earliest NYC gigs and that I have remained a fan since that time. The band was opening up for Kittie at B.B. King’s that night and the show featured a host of other quality bands as well but it was ITM that impressed me the most (after Kittie of course). Since that time the band has released three more albums and gone through some lineup changes but now are back stronger than ever before and bringing their fans “The Hellpop Tour” that will also feature Motionless In White, Kyng and All Hail The Yeti. This is an exciting roster for sure and it’s even more awesome to let you know that thanks to the folks at AEG, a few PiercingMetal readers will get to see this show for free. Read on below to see how to participate.

In This Moment @ Gramercy Theatre (12/1/2009)

Label: Century Media Records

In terms of my appreciation for how In This Moment delivers the Metal goods, I had to say that I have been pleased ever since I first caught them as the first band who was opening up for a show held by Kittie in NYC not all that long ago. They were impressive from the start and when they met with people in the audience they just seemed so “real” and happy to be a part of the mix. Since that time the band has released two solid albums and also found themselves on some legendary bills as opener for both Megadeth and Ozzy Osbourne. The latter show found them also playing with Rob Zombie and when you think about it, it is some pretty cool stuff for a band that is still relatively new at the game. They’ve visited NYC a number of times and I had not seen them since they gigged with Five Finger Death Punch as direct support, so it was nice to find them back in the Big Apple as the headliner on their “Winter To Remember” tour. They would bring along a number of acts whose names I was not yet aware of and the show in the city found one local opener kicking it all off. We made sure to get into the Gramercy Theatre nice and early to see what the whole thing was about. Here is how the night went down.

Five Finger Death Punch @ Fillmore at Irving Plaza (10/23/2008)

“The Way Of The Fist” is an exciting Metal album from an equally exciting band called Five Finger Death Punch. The band has seen their own popularity rise over the last few months and was now bringing an energetic show to the Big Apple with special guest openers In This Moment and Bury Your Dead. We were on point to report on the performance and made sure to shoot a lot of photos for those fans of the live scene. To learn more about this gig just scroll past the logo below to see our narrative.

Five Finger Death Punch has been taking no prisoners with their debut CD “The Way Of The Fist’ since it was released and that is never a bad thing to find happening for a new band. The CD is an aggressive Heavy Metal recording with lots of great guitars, thundering drum patterns and easy to get into choruses. They were moving steadily along with the album but their appearance on the Family Values tour of 2007 with Korn, Evanescence, Trivium, Hellyeah and Flyleaf seemed to seal the deal in their rising popularity. Having missed that particular tour I was happy to be able to be a part of the action that was going on in NYC this evening. My night had already started out well since it was CMJ week and I had attended a gathering of the areas industry folks and was treated to some new live Metal and Hard Rock from both Autumn Black and Ionia. Of course, that is an entirely different report on the site, so look for that should you want the scoop about that part of the day. Now it was over to the Fillmore NY to see this high energy band that had wisely brought along those other rising stars of In This Moment along with them. The lead off band would be Bury Your Dead and here is how the night progressed.
