With the news about the upcoming Woodstock 50th Anniversary Festival being somewhat up in the air based on reports that its been cancelled (discussed HERE) and then a counter statement by its founder that it will still happen (discussed HERE), its nice to see a brand-new music festival sending out some news. This is a bonafide Hard Rock and Classic Rock event and something that has a lot of artists that I am curious about so read more about it down below the logo. Enjoy.

Music fans in my neck of the woods are going to be looking into relocation before October hits based on this sure to be crushing Festival event. It’s the kind of music festival my friends and I clamor for but instead we get The Governors Ball and Panorama Music Festival. Sigh. Anyway, without further adieu I share with you the announcement about the debut of the Exit 111 Music Festival. Read on down below to the full press release and prepare to be stunned by the lineup.
The Press Release:
EXIT 111 Festival will debut with a heavyweight line-up that celebrates all forms of rock–from hard to classic, alternative to southern–when it debuts October 11-13 at the Great Stage Park in Manchester, TN. The inaugural three-day event hosted by Eddie Trunk will be led by headlining slots from Guns N’ Roses, Def Leppard, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and a mix of platinum-selling artists including Slayer (in the last Tennessee show of their career), ZZ Top, Deftones, Ghost, Megadeth and more than 40 acts (full line-up below). Tickets for EXIT 111 go on sale Thursday, April 25 at 12:00 PM (ET), with additional ticketing info below.
Produced by C3 Presents and AC Entertainment, the massive footprint of the festival site–known to millions as the home of the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival–will be transformed into a rock and roll playground with the all-star line-up appearing on three stages with 12 hours of music daily, camping and a variety of activities tailored specifically to concert-goers. This marks the first-ever event, beyond Bonnaroo, to utilize the 700-plus acre farm. On site adventures include Paranormal Cirque (an R-rated crazy yet fun fusion between circus, theatre, and cabaret in perfect harmony with the evolution of a show that brings you back to when we dream…and when we had nightmares and fantasies), the first annual EXIT 111 car show, Red Bull motocross demonstrations and a mega sports bar airing full sports coverage throughout the weekend, with more activities announced soon. Presenting the 2016 Class for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductions. Are you happy with the choices of Deep Purple? Of Cheap Trick? Of Chicago? Of Steve Miller? Of NWA?
PiercingMetal Thoughts: What a rundown of names for this years class huh. At long last we are getting the mighty Deep Purple in the Rock Hall along with Cheap Trick and in my humble opinion these two have rocked my personal world for more years than I care to disclose. Outside of a handful of tunes I never really followed both Chicago or Steve Miller but their sounds were staples in my Classic Rock radio listening over the years and then we have NWA, the lone Rap group who won out over Janet Jackson who was also up for nomination. Now I’ve said this a number of times already before and that is how I really give little credibility to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as anything important in my own love of music. Yeah I am happy that KISS finally made it in there and joined the likes of Van Halen, Sabbath, Rush and many other favorites but outside of that I give a whopping “0” f**ks about it as something I should be impressed by or look to for sage Rock importance. I am still against any and all Rap acts from being included in this and its a constant source of debate with a couple of my friends who I think that the opposing view to rile me more than anything else and feel this place should just rebrand to the “Music Hall Of Fame” once and for all so you can keep putting the rappers in ahead of the likes of Yes, or the eventually hope for Judas Priest and Iron Maiden (not that I think those will happen in my lifetime).
As always your opinions on this are of interest to me so let’s get those comments brewing. I look forward to what you have to say about it.
