Celebrating David Bowie Announces Additional Tour Dates

While they say that the human attention span is less than twelve seconds these days, I hope you remember a post I did about the “CELEBRATING DAVID BOWIE” Concerts and if you didn’t, just click HERE to refresh your memory before we continue along. Just a short time ago, I noticed some updated press about the tour and I’m sharing it with you below. Dig in.

The Press Release:
CELEBRATING DAVID BOWIE is excited to announce additional dates for the upcoming 2018 tour. The North American leg of the tour–which features members of David Bowie’s bands including Mike Garson, Earl Slick, Gerry Leonard and Carmine Rojas–has added new stops in Tucson, AZ, Fort Lauderdale, FL, Orlando, FL, Clearwater, FL, Atlanta, GA and New Orleans, LA to its extensive itinerary (see all North American tour dates below). Mike Garson is the CELEBRATING DAVID BOWIE band leader after having made his mark on numerous Bowie albums, including his much talked about masterly solo on the “Aladdin Sane” track. Garson was Bowie’s longest and most frequent band member. They performed together for both David’s first and last concerts in the United States as well as 1,000 concerts around the globe in between. Read an interview with the U.K.’s NME that Garson recently conducted here.

Celebrating David Bowie Adds Earl Slick & Bernard Fowler To Tour

To many fans of his music, the loss of David Bowie is still a thing that’s hard to come to terms with and that makes this exciting celebration of his music all the more wonderful. Check out the official press release along with the dates. I’ll return at the close with some editorial thoughts.

The Press Release:
Celebrating David Bowie is excited to announce the addition of musicians Earl Slick (guitar) and Bernard Fowler (vocalist) to the North American leg of the recently announced 2018 tour. More than just a mere salute, Celebrating David Bowie keeps Bowie’s music alive with musicians who worked closely with him throughout his career and other top musicians greatly influenced by him.

Guitarist Earl Slick worked on landmark Bowie albums such as Diamond Dogs, Young Americans and Reality, among others, and toured extensively with him. Says Slick: “I’m happy to announce that I am officially joining my longtime DB band mates starting on the February leg of the ‘Celebrating David Bowie’ tour. So put on your red shoes and I’ll see you all then.” Vocalist Bernard Fowler is known for his work with The Rolling Stones and other iconic artists. Both Slick and Fowler will join legendary Bowie touring and recording keyboardist, and CdB band leader, Mike Garson–who collaborated with Bowie for longer than any other player–guitarist and previous Bowie band leader Gerry Leonard (A Reality Tour), and Bowie’s Let’s Dance/Serious Moonlight Tour bassist Carmine Rojas. Between them, they have over 30 years experience of recording, writing and playing live with Bowie.

Also joining the tour will be CdB 2017 standout Fishbone‘s Angelo Moore and 2017 Grammy nominee Gaby Moreno as well as special guests and other former Bowie band members who will make surprise appearances along the way.
