As the world slowly returns to some sense of “normal” with the vaccinations against the dreaded Coronavirus, and with businesses making strides in their re-opening, many are looking forward to the upcoming films being on point once more and one of the anticipated releases comes care of Sony Pictures, the latest installment in their own “Spiderverse” Saga – “Venom Let There Be Carnage”. The Official Trailer is revealed and I’ve added some casting, and promotional artwork for you to enjoy to. Have at it.
The Press Release:
In a video during today’s retailer panel at C2E2 in Chicago, acclaimed writer Donny Cates (Thanos, Guardians of the Galaxy, Doctor Strange) announced ABSOLUTE CARNAGE – Marvel’s epic summer event! Beginning in Free Comic Book Day Spider-Man/Venom #1 (out May 5), the blockbuster event starts in August (although fans will see the threads reaching as far back as Amazing Spider-Man 252 with connections to almost every Venom and Carnage story since) and re-teams Cates with Venom’s Ryan Stegman and colorist Frank Martin for the deadliest story in the Marvel Universe!
“Cletus Kasady is back, and he is deadlier than he’s ever been,” Cates teased in the video announcement. “ABSOLUTE CARNAGE encompasses every single character who has ever worn a symbiote and every symbiote that has ever been, going all the way back to when Peter found the black suit. Going from there to Maximum Carnage to Venomized to everything…everyone is a target.”
Stay tuned to Marvel.com for more about ABSOLUTE CARNAGE, including news from this year’s Marvel Comic panels at C2E2. This summer, no super hero is safe…everyone is a target!

PiercingMetal Thoughts: We’ve been fans of the super-villain Carnage since his very first appearance back in the pages of “Amazing Spider-Man” and feel that he is a force to be reckoned with based on his utter sadistic depravity and unpredictability and cruelty. Considering he ended up making Venom more of an anti-hero that is saying something. I look forward to this new series and think it will be interesting to see how this foe interacts with other characters that he might not have normally crossed paths with. What do you think about this series to come? Does the announcement raise some interest in you? Will you be asking your local comic book retailer to put a copy aside for you? Chime in down in the comments section below. Stay tuned for more on this initiative. I shall continue to report on items that I am made aware of.
Hasbro has just released the images of the upcoming Marvel Legends series of action figures that are focused on “Venom”. These six figures are a “Build-A-Figure” set and the resulting “Monster Venom” is way down at the end of this post. Let’s look. I won’t say much else since I don’t think that I need to.
As I write this, the American International Toy Fair is around the corner and some of the companies are offering up sneak peeks at the lines being debuted at this massive trade only event. I’ve featured the Hasbro Toys action figures from their “Marvel Legends” series on numerous occasions so I was happy to see some advance reveals for the “Venom” and “Deadpool” series. As you know, each of these characters will be featured in film this year and I can hardly wait. Let’s take a look.
I’ll start of with what was revealed from the “Venom” line. In this we get a couple of the 6″ action figures that are a part of the “Marvel Legends Series” and two of the larger figures.
The latest Spider-Man film, appropriately titled “Amazing Spider-Man 2” does NOT come out care of Marvel Studios but is instead under the mindful eye of the Sony studios and if you enjoyed the first film (which I did to an extent) then fans should be ecstatic about the sequel coming out this summer. Hasbro Toys will be bringing this film to peoples collections with their “Spider-Man Legends Infinite Series” and as I did with my last couple of posts about these figures, I culled together the provided press images and talked a little about the figures. You’ll get to see what amounts to this whole first wave in its packaging. Let’s get started with one of Spider-Man’s most classic of villains – The Beetle.
