Motley Crue/Def Leppard “The Stadium Tour” Postponed Until 2021

Hard Rock and Metal fans across the nation were chomping at the bit for news about the big summer tour that was coming from Motley Crue, Def Leppard, Poison and Joan Jett and The Blackhearts. With the Coronavirus Pandemic still a national threat, large gatherings of this kind were getting cancelled left and right. We’ve just learned that this tour is indeed postponed and the official statement can be gleaned below. See you at the close.

We wanted to continue to communicate with our fans and update you with valid information as it becomes available. The official decision has been made to move all 2020 North American Stadium Tour dates into the summer of 2021. The new stadium dates are being rescheduled, your tickets will be honored for all postponed shows and refund policy information will be made available shortly. It was only about two weeks ago when the big news was the announcement of the Motley Crue ending their retirement and then breaking the news about a massive tour that involved them with Def Leppard, Poison and Joan Jett & The Blackhearts. The world’s most iconic and celebrated rock legends will hit the road together next summer for a coheadlining tour SO MASSIVE that it could only be held in America’s biggest stadiums.

THE STADIUM TOUR featuring DEF LEPPARD, MÖTLEY CRÜE, with POISON and JOAN JETT & THE BLACKHEARTS will hit select cities in the U.S. where each band will bring their electrifying stage shows while promising to perform their stadium sized anthems. Produced by Live Nation, the summer tour is set to steamroll through America, visiting the country’s most iconic stadiums!! New dates have been announced for San Antonio, Kansas City, St. Louis, Minneapolis, Nashville, Cincinnati and Cleveland. All have been integrated into the previously announced dates.

Ever since Motley Crue announced their cessation of breaking up by blowing up the contract that they swore was binding and shall forever stand (discussed HERE), the chatter has been high about what will come to pass from it. Sure some websites said a co-headlining run with Def Leppard would take place and then there was teases from Poison that some big news was a coming and well, here it is my friends. Poison Announces “Nothin’ But A Good Time” Summer Tour

As the winter draws to its hopeful end for spring, the summer tours are starting to flood the mailbox here at the Metal Media Command HQ and this next one is going to be some great news for a lot of people as Poison returns to the headlining stage. Music fans wanting a little variety with their summer tour package will get that very thing with the “Poison…Nothin’ But A Good Time 2018” tour. Iconic rock band POISON, with all original members, will be joined by CHEAP TRICK and POP EVIL on its trek across the U.S. this summer. The tour is set to launch May 18 in Irvine, CA at Five Points Amphitheatre.

Produced by Live Nation, tickets for various cities will go on sale starting Friday, February 9 and Saturday, February 10. Def Leppard Announces 2017 Tour w/Poison and Tesla

It looks like we will not have to wait until the summer time to have what seems to be one of the hottest concert touring packages as Def Leppard recently announced their North American tour with special guests Poison and Tesla. Check out the full press release and dates below the poster and then I’ll return with some additional thoughts on it.

The Press Release:
NEW YORK (Jan. 12, 2017)-Fresh off winning their fan voted Classic Rock Magazine Album of the Year award, Def Leppard announce they will return to the road this spring for a three month run across North America. The Live Nation promoted outing will storm through cities across parts of the U.S. and Canada. This new leg of dates follows the groups massive 70+ city 2016 tour and is set to kick off on April 8th in Manchester, NH and wrap on June 25th in Indianapolis, IN. Joining Def Leppard on select dates are Poison and Tesla. Please see full tour routing below. Tickets will go on sale on January 20th and 21st at LiveNation.com. Front man Joe Elliott says, “We’re thrilled to be able to take this tour to cities we didn’t play in 2016. The demand for us to return, or rather extend the tour was phenomenal! There’s a great buzz around the band right now and we’re loving the fact that we can do this with the latest album being so well received.”
