It’s been almost three months since Chicao, and I still look down at my leg in disbelief. Two years of waiting through the pandemic, hoping we would have an opening to be a band again and continue the work we started 30 some odd years ago. Rehearsing, training, reconciling, working our way back to form. Then one and a half shows into it and my tendon tears. Felt like a sick joke the universe played on me. As I write this I remind myself it’s just a bad circumstance. Just a fucked up moment. Continue reading Rage Against The Machine Cancels 2023 North American Tour→
Fans who’ve been witnessing the socio-political Metal that is Rage Against The Machine on these last few dates have seen singer Zack De La Rocha doing the show while seated. The singer had recently injured his leg badly during a performance but in a true “the show must go on” move, he has done the shows seated since that time. Unfortunately, this is not helping in his proper recovery and just a short time ago the announcement came that ALL upcoming 2022 dates are cancelled.
In what has amounted to be a wave of postponements and even full cancellations comes the news that the Rage Against The Machine “Public Service Announcement” tour has been postponed. The graphic below lines out the bands statement.
Rage Against the Machine have announced a worldwide headline tour. The seven month run, which kicks off on March 26th, 2020 in El Paso, TX and goes through Saturday, September 12th 2020 in Vienna, Austria, marks the first time the iconic LA band has toured together since 2011. Incendiary rap duo Run the Jewels (Killer Mike & El-P) will join RATM for all headline dates (excl. Chicago) in support of their highly-anticipated new album, RTJ4, out this spring. Through ticketing, volunteering and band donations, Rage Against the Machine will be working with multiple charities and activist organizations throughout the tour. In addition, 100% of all proceeds from El Paso, Las Cruces and Phoenix will go to immigrant rights organizations.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: So what do you readers think? Are you in? Chime in down below in the comments section. See you next time.
So it was only yesterday where revealed how the band My Chemical Romance was reuniting for a single show in California (seen HERE in case you were too busy trick or treating). That must have put the Powers That Be in reunion land on notice because now it appears that Rage Against The Machine is also reuniting and will play a handful of shows that include two appearaces at Coachella in 2020. With every single web outlet seeming to post the news, how could I stay away from tossing my hat into the mix.
PiercingMetal Thoughts: Truth be told, I never really followed RATM or bothered to try to catch a live performance back when they were in their heyday. I liked a few songs and enjoyed some of the videos that I saw but that was enough for me. They were more of the kind of thing my friends were following and that is what keeps musical discourse between friends an interesting thing. I do love reunions and special event performances so this is pretty much a big deal in terms of happenings and should the group decide on a NYC appearance, I would want to be there as a scribe doing the reporting thing. That’s all I have to add to the mix and I wonder if you readers were big fans or managed to catch them live ever in your life. You can chime in down below and let me know how excited or not that you are about this news. See you next time.
