Presenting The 44th Annual Saturn Awards Winners

saturn awards logo

It was a few short months ago that I shared the nominees for the 44th Annual Saturn Awards. It was my very first time showcasing these particular awards in our narratives but with my continuing to serve up as much of the proper geek stuff in our Pop Culture focuses, this celebration fits right in. The winners were all revealed yesterday so check out who won out in the eyes of the votes in this committee. That’s the folks from the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films in case you forgot. To make this an easier list to digest, I’ve left the nominees rundown in as well so you can see who won big out of the batch. It’s very likely that some of your favorites won while others did not. Let’s check it out. I’ll come back at the close for a few additional thoughts.

Warner Brothers Pictures: “Blade Runner 2049” Official Trailer

It’s been an exciting few days on the film media side of the fence with the resounding response to the opening of the “Guardians Of The Galaxy” Vol. 2 film and during the viewing that I did on Monday morning, I saw the short teaser trailer for the upcoming “Blade Runner 2049” film which is of course the next chapter from the “Blade Runner” movie that came out way back in 1982. When I got home I saw that a full trailer was online care of the Warner Brothers Pictures and I am happy to share it with you now. Check it out.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: This might surprise you a little bit if you know anything about my personal interest in so many different Science Fiction franchises, but I have never, ever, watched “Blade Runner” straight through and when I say this my longest time friends shake their respective heads saying “but how???” – Truth be told I don’t know how that ended up happening but it just did. I guess I got lost somewhere along the lines with the galaxies far, far, away and by boldly going where no one has gone before stuff. This admission finds me now on a mission to finally sit and enjoy this film and catch up to what everyone loved about it. I liked what I saw in the trailer and with today’s special effects the playing field is rather limitless. So what do you readers think about this trailer and the idea of a sequel to the classic Science Fiction story? Let me know in the comments section below.
