Batushka Cancels North American Headline Tour Dates

It was only a few short months ago that we helped share the information about Batushka’s return to the USA in support of their Metal Blade Records album “Hospodi” (seen HERE). Sadly, I’m returning to the subject to share that thanks to band lineup changes, a constant barrage of bad blood and of course the vox populi on the social networks, this tour has been cancelled in full. Let’s take a look at the official statement that was posted on the bands Official Facebook Page.

The Official Statement:
As has been reported, we have cancelled all up and coming international touring until a time where the dispute between Derph and myself is resolved. Massive financial and bureaucratic undertakings are required to make international touring at this scale work, coupled with the daily firefighting of Batushka’s day-to-day business, it has taken it’s toll and we have reached our limit.

Batushka Announce North American Headline Tour Dates

Though my background on the band Batushka is still rather limited, I’m pleased to rally behind announcements about their activities and their Metal Blade Records label. Considering the band hasn’t been “here” much in terms of live appearances, you are very likely in the same corner as I am so let’s take a look at the latest scoop.

The Press Release:
Emerging from the shadows of eastern Poland back in 2015, black metal band Batushka have established themselves as one of the modern era’s most powerful and evocative bands. Harnessing the fire and fury of arcane black metal and channeling it through the reverberant grandeur of ancient rituals of worship, the band’s debut album Litourgiya stood apart from the extreme metal hordes: a monument to originality, depth and dark mysticism that swiftly cast its spell over the metal underground and beyond. The band’s sophomore album Hospodi is out now via Metal Blade Records.
