Welcome back my friends and as promised I am here with you nice and early to get back into the presentations of my adventures at the 2021 New York Comic Con. I’ll be starting with my Day Two photographs and notes so if you missed anything just click HERE to launch a new browser tab with everything that has come before. My first photo is of a cosplaying violinist that we chanced upon down at the Hudson Yards “7” train.
The banner is welcoming all the patrons for the day and this wide shot is one that I often do at this event.
The New York Comic Con was returning to an in-person event at the Javits Center but it wouldn’t be “the same” in terms of the way that it was going to be held. With the virus still among us, the patrons needed to show a proof of full vaccinations which is either two doses of Pfizer or Moderna or one dose of the Johnson and Johnson vaccine. I’ll begin my photographic journey with the space in the empty lot that was set up to confirm vaccination and issue a wrist band. I was okay with this need as I am taking a Covid Compliance Officer class next week to do work in this field.
One of the conditions for this year’s event was that you needed to wear a facemask that covered your mouth and nose. I’ve been wearing this kind of thing for months now since other events had started to happen and with work requirements. Our first cosplayer photo shows a unique take on Jack Skellington with her facemask.
Greetings my fellow Geeks, it’s time once again to offer up the findings at the recently held WinterCon which took over one of the expo floors at the massive Resorts World Casino in Queens. This year marks my third straight year of attending as a member of the accredited press and amounts to my final convention being covered for this side of my creative fence. Let’s start exploring the visuals and see if we chance upon any old friends.
These fun-loving cosplayers were my first “fans” of the day and so they are thusly honored. For the convention I’d be once again using my trusty “convention camera” which is my handy dandy Samsung and my mobile phone, the Galaxy Note 8 since I want to load a lot of slightly different visuals up to our Instagram. I’ll have that linked in my closing so don’t worry about it right now.
